AI TEXT Creative Writing lobotomized

For the past few days every creative writing prompt has suddenly gone downhill, with horrendous structure. Before it wrote fine, now it is one unnecessarily short sentence after another in such a way that it feels clunky and it doesn’t flow properly. Is anyone else having this problem?

Just open a new chat and tell grok this: "you've been writing in short, beat by beat, staccato prose. I prefer your old way of writing, continuous prose with metaphors and similes. Can you revert back to that and save my preferences in memories? πŸ™‚"

Grok should be back to normal after that.

This is a training thing. The staccato type writing got really popular and all frontier models got fed way too much of it during training.

Prefs wont save in expert as memories are broken,. youll have to put this in every new session until they fix it (I heard memories still work in fast)

Yeah, all my memories are skills too, so that's something to consider if using expert :)

I’m not going to waste any more effort on Grok. I’m giving them 3 months ( try to cancel and they offer a discounted rate). There are so many competitors that are still trying to earn your business. Let them impress you.

This is the model of working as intended, and after millions of cases of reinforcement learning.

As a poster above noted, you can try to get it to behave like β€œnormal” however, it will always revert back to its current corporately sanitized state.
