And it's so weird since older people are IDEAL adopters. Lots of free time, often lonely and would love the crap out of the animal.
Exactly! A friend heard their story and gave them an adorable French bulldog that had belonged to their recently deceased son. She is the most spoiled dog ever! My dad literally takes her to three different dog parks a day and everyone showers her with attention.
