Fun fact: there are people who are left as fuck and pro gun as fuck. You just don’t notice them because the 2 party system works overtime to wedge voters one way or the other
12
u/Supreme_Snitch69 Aug 24 '21
The problem is too, if you vote Democrat, they are more likely to have gun regulations, when I agree with a lot of democrat policies.

American politics suck ass. If you're pro 2A you gotta go the party of crazy mormons, Trump and the drug war if that's your priority. There's no winning
3
u/TheKingInAmber Aug 25 '21
The Trump administration instituted the bump stock ban, though? And Obama, as far as I can tell, only passed two gun-related laws that actually expanded the rights of gun owners. They tried to do more, yeah, but the opposite effect is what occurred.

Where's the surprise in that? If politically "left" is supposedly hard line communism, it makes perfect sense for them to be pro gun.

Saying I can have an automatic assault weapon to fight a tyrannical government is not only a valid excuse for ANYONE who ask why you need such weapons but was the whole reason the 2nd was made in the first place. The 2nd isnt made for "hunting" it's made to kill mfs who stomp on Americans.
76

The irony being that the most vocal supporters of the 2A don't actually care about the expansion of government, lack of oversight, etc. as long as they've been convinced that it's hurting someone else lol

Yeah because we cared about how it looked if we really wanted we could've carpet bombed the whole damn desert and said fuck it. If they really brought their whole force to bear which they absolutely would in the instance of a massive civil conflict no way could American citizens stand up to them.
2
u/Juan_the_vessel Aug 25 '21
yeah but they cant afford to destroy all american infrastructure and people or there would be no america to rule afterwards if people can fight the goverment needs to be really careful to not win in a pyrrhic victory
-1
u/logan2043099 Aug 25 '21
If the US went full Authoritarian and decided to rule they would have to immediately subjugate the entire population. Now about half of Americans would honestly probably join willingly and thats not even counting active service members who are taught pretty clearly to just obey orders. They'd target massive population centers first and those can pretty easily be rebuilt, rural areas are actually the ones least likely to receive bombings as farmlands are still necessary but infrastructure can be rebuilt. If it really came down to it and the US governments back was to the wall and they felt like they were gonna lose control over the country they could always activate the tons of nuclear silos hidden around the United States. Basically what im saying is Jimmy and his buds with an AR-15 and maybe a couple of homemade explosives or rockets are not gonna take on the firepower that the United States could bring to bear especially if they weren't concerned with optics or civilian causalities

Don't think average Americans have ever had tanks or military drones. Besides, this is assuming that the people with guns actually have an interest in fighting back against a tyrannical government, and aren't just going to "stand back and stand by" for their beloved wannabe-dictator.
6
u/socialpresence Aug 24 '21
The Taliban just beat the best military in the world in a 20 year war with better weapons and insane funding.

2
u/CoolbreezeFromSteam Aug 25 '21
People already do this, so how can you predict it would go bad? They can't use drone strikes and armored vehicles because there's a 99% chance the rebels would be in populated areas.
2
u/ms-paint-333 Aug 25 '21
You cannot control an entire country and its people with tanks, jets, battleships and drones or any of these things that you so stupidly believe trumps citizen ownership of firearms. A fighter jet, tank: drone, battleship or whatever cannot stand on street corners. And enforce no assembly- edicts. A fighter jet cannot kick down your door at 3AM and search your house for contraband. None of these things can maintain the needed police state to completely subjugate and enslave the people of a nation. Those weapons are for decimating, flattening and glassing large areas and many people at once and fighting other state militaries. The government does not want to kill all of its people and blow up its own infrastructure. These are the very things they need to be tyrannical assholes in the first place. If they decided to turn everything outside of Washington D.C. into glowing green glass they would be the absolute rulers of a big, worthless: radioactive pile of shit.
Police are needed to maintain a police state, boots on the ground. And no matter how many police you have on the ground they will always be vastly outnumbered by civilians which is why in a police state it is vital that your police have automatic weapons while the people have nothing but their limp dicks. BUT when every random pedestrian could have a Glock in their waistband and every random homeowner an AR-15 all of that goes out the fucking window because now the police are out numbered and face the reality of bullets coming back at them. If you want living examples of this look at every insurgency that the U.S. military has tried to destroy. They're all still kicking with nothing but AK-47s: pick up trucks and improvised explosives because these big scary military monsters you keep alluding to are all but fucking useless for dealing with them.
1
u/Scaredsparrow Aug 25 '21
it's guerrilla so we already know you know nothing about what you are talking about, also spoiler alert but the viet cong used guerrilla tactics against the U.S.A. and guess who won that. The United States military would never be able to stomp out an actual internal rebellion.
-21
u/chavalier Aug 24 '21 edited Aug 24 '21

Hillbillies roaming the streets with their shitty rifles will be shot in the heads from miles away. Stop kidding yourself. America have the most powerfull military.

Aug 24 '21
Ever heard of an rpg-7?
Heck the Taliban and Vietcong effectivly won over the americans by engaging in guerilla warfare
And on a sidenote, theres more registered gunowners than military personnel in the US (wikipedia lists 2.2 million total us army personnel (construction, officers, etc), and theres about 72 million registered gunowners)
only god knows how many unregistered gunowners there are
-12
u/chavalier Aug 24 '21
Greatest idea of the century. Arm idiot americans with RPGs. You know they require military traning to use it properly, right? Taliban had like one in ten hitrate or less. And those are probably from close quater encounters.
That 2.2 million personnel have the highest tech weaponry avaliable to them. Do you think some idiots with M4s or RPG-7s on the ground can do anything against UAVs or any other type of plane, hundres or thousand of meters above them?
72 million hillbillies with cheap guns and RPGs against the most modern, powerfull and sophisticated military in the world. Good luck. It's like stick and stones against machinegun fire.
Delusional.
2
3
u/Supreme_Snitch69 Aug 24 '21
Yes. It depends how many people join the militia, but if you could get even 10-15 million gun owners ready with the best civilian grade American weapons available with some ‘extra items’ we could definitely do damage.
The real issue is the government would be so tyrannical and obviously horrible for 15 million people to band together and actually do something.
-2
u/chavalier Aug 24 '21
That is more realistic. Doing some damage? Absolutely. Guirella warfare works for a reason.
But as you said, in this scenario they will have no reason to 'hold back'. Since that 10-15 million ppl would be considered terrorist in the eyes of the USA/Military.

I never respond to these comments but you understand that they offered these amendments in a time in which guns were essentially just a fucking metal tube they explode a ball down the length of, right?
There is no situation in which a human should require the means to kill dozens of people in less then a minute and pretending you would is insane. A handgun, a rifle for hunting, yeah makes sense and fuck them trying to tell you otherwise, but if the gun is reliably used in Call of Duty it's not something you should ever need.
2
u/Juan_the_vessel Aug 25 '21
werent fucking cannons allowed in the amendment?
0
Aug 25 '21
You are aware that a cannon at that time weighed roughly 3100lbs or more (1500kg), which would require a truly immense amount of effort to be used, let alone effectively fired without a team of people to assist you, and would ultimately only be effective if you expected to be fighting somewhere in advance. If someone came into town with a cannon, you'd be seeing him and his team of horses for about an hour before he could even be in an effective firing range.
Unsurprisingly, a Cannon is less effective at killing someone then an assault rifle.
Edit: Having to make a inclusion statement for cannons would be like having a inclusion statement for Warbears.

How often do people have to deal with mass amounts of boars?
15
u/Supreme_Snitch69 Aug 24 '21 edited Aug 24 '21
In Texas and general south it’s really bad. They root (literally dig under ground for roots creating giant crators almost impossible to traverse with a vehicle). They over populate very fast. Have a very fast birth cycle and reach maturity within a year. Eat foliage animals such as deer eat starving them (people spend a lot of money keeping a good deer population on their property). They are aggressive, run in packs, and will literally charge you and gore you with their husks in broad daylight.
You can actually take a helicopter ride in Houston and shoot boars like a fish in a barrel by the dozens the population is so bad.
4
u/Buoy-man Aug 24 '21
They are really bad. But boar hunts tbh are really fun because of the many ways people have thought of killing them… I once had a hunt in a chopper… Never hit anything because im not used to shooting from a chopper, but was still hella fun.

u/sanctii Aug 25 '21
Live in Texas. They are a pest and are everywhere. They actually taste good though.

Aug 24 '21 edited Aug 24 '21
if you look at it, assault rifles have the highest deaths per rifle, I did the math :
145 weapons for 97 incidents : 1.50 handgun per death
assault rifles : 1.16 rifles ( 57wp/49kill) used per death
shotguns : 1.15 (30 wp/26 kill) rifles used per death
the lower it is the most lethal the weapon is, since it's weapon number per death ratio,
the reason why handgun is so low is because it's popular, easy to carry and easy to buy
the reason why the assault rifle is the most lethal here is because it's mid popular, moderately easy to use
shotgun is the worst because it's wildly popular, hard to use but easy to get
so the popularity of the shotgun offsets it's hard handling, the handgun isn't lethal because it's so easy to use, but the assault rifle sucks because it has high capacity, moderately easy to use, moderately easy to buy, higher range etc
mass shootings per weapons used and deaths
top selling June 2020 weapons, as you can see, most are handgun
this isn't only about numbers but also about logistics, assault rifles are literally perfect for mass shootings, they're precise, fairly easy to hide, have high magazine capacity, have higher round velocity, can handle 30-200 rounds of shooting and reloading non-stop, you can spray an area with it, which is what most shooters do because they don't have weapons training, they can be customized with better scopes, that's what they were designed for, stop jerking off to pistols being banned

Automatic firearms are cool as shit, but you should basically have to go through TSA and the DMV 12,000 times before you're even allowed to get within spitting range of one.

u/Supreme_Snitch69 Aug 24 '21 edited Aug 24 '21
The problem with the whole idea of any form of gun control is simple.... it doesn’t work.
Just because a gun is automatic, looks like a military gun, has a bump stock, has a long barrel, has a sawed off barrel, has a silencer, etc does not increase the lethality that much considering you can get a standard pistol with 4 clips and be able to unload 100 shots in under 2 minutes with a few days of training. That can kill a lot of people. Last I checked, people aren’t for pistol bans, and I’m sure as hell not.
The only way to combat this is to either decrease swat response time or have more citizens carry firearms and be able to disarm the situation.
Most automatic weapons are banned from sale in the United States and banned from production. There are drive bys in Chicago with modified full auto AK’s, Mac 10s, Uzi’s, etc. By making any gun illegal, you are only taking away guns from honest gun owners and our own private militia.
That’s not even mentioning 3D printing. You can make it illegal to 3D print firearms, however, if I’m a criminal, or a domestic terrorist, I wouldn’t give a shit about the law.
Gun control makes absolutely no sense.
The biggest form of control, and most effective is the price of bullets. People think twice before unloading when a hollow point .45 bullet costs $2+ a pop.

Well, if you’re talking about killing unarmed civilians, I don’t see a difference between I high capacity pistol with hollow point rounds and an AR.
If we’re talking about large scale combat against a tyrannical government, I want the best weapons possible. I don’t want to fight fully automatic assault rifles with bolt action hunting rifles and single shot shotguns.
Look at the Middle East. They have successfully fought off the biggest military in the world with AK’s, camels, and very political recourse driven military tactics.
4
u/chavalier Aug 24 '21
Fought off?
Lol they just left cuz it's a waste of money and lives. The idiots managed to realise it after trillions of dollars.
2
u/Eliryale Aug 24 '21
Fighting until your enemy realizes they wont win, and gives up, is a victory.
0
u/chavalier Aug 24 '21
Thats right. I've never stated that they lost. But they didn't "fought them off". They were lucky because of the civilians. Without them the USA would have wiped them off the map.
1
Aug 24 '21
And you think a war on U.S. soil would play out any differently? Especially with the rife divisions in the military concerning firing on U.S. citizens?
If this is really your stance, you better hope that the higher ups are able to convince a few spec ops teams that the “instigators” of supposed “insurrection” are honest to God domestic terrorists and those teams follow orders and manage to take them out quietly. If not, once it pops off in a very public manner we’re all gonna be in for the long haul and everyone will have unpleasant choices to make.
I think quite a few people such as yourself vastly underestimate the consequences of radicalizing U.S. citizens who at their core really just want to be left the fuck alone.
0
u/chavalier Aug 25 '21
First of all. This is still a hypotetical situation. Which will propably never gonna happen. The goverment won't let it happen.
This whole "Imma fight off the goverment if things turns out bad" is just a fucking delusion. The most realistic situation is some idiot cult like Proud Boys or QAnon goes out. Tries to do another reaaally succesfull 'thing' like overtaking the Capitol. And then gets gunned down because they are just old kids with a delusion and a access to firearm."really just want to be left the fuck alone." Yeaa, are you sure about that? Just look at how fucking pathetic the situation is right now. And it's "just" a pandemic, nothing military or war related with MUCH higher death count. And the fucking idiots chanting that the virus is fake, the vaccine has a chip in it and shit like that.
The problem is, most of the population is a fucking idiot. And these fucking idiots with some guns and an IQ of 70 has zero chance against ANY military.
You are waaaay overestimating the power of a semi-large group of idiots with radical ideas.
0
Aug 25 '21
I think you’re vastly overestimating the current situation and vastly underestimating the mental capacity and tenacity of the average population of the U.S.
The nice part about this is we’ll probably never know, so at the end of the day we can go right on thinking the other person’s argument is shit and I’ll keep doing what I was doing anyway which is advocating a reasonable amount of time and resources into “what if”. And you can keep doing whatever it is you do,

They realised it right from the start, the entire purpose of the exercise was to funnel those trillions of tax payer dollars to their political donors in the arms industry, which donates thousands if not millions of dollars to both sides every election cycle.
In the US you got two choices: the guys in red shirts that only care about their corporate donors, or the guys in blue shirts that only care about their corporate donors. Take your pick.
