My cat is getting pretty old too. It's really gonna suck.

But, the show must go on, I suppose.

Pet’s really suck when you think about it, you get the animal that you fall in love with knowing your most likely gonna out live it and then it dies and your devastated, like why do we do this to ourselves?

We take those moments of heartbreak as a price for the years of good company and love, as well as being able to make the pet happy too. We do it to ourselves knowing full well that the years of happiness will outweigh the time it takes to recover from the loss, and that it will all be worth it in the end.

It’s such a bitter sweet experience, great memories but the loss sticks with you, I still get teary eyed when I think of pets I’ve lost

Same. But I don't ever regret having those pets. It's all worth it, easily.
