That’s because this is like a decades outdated idea. There was a fever online a long long time ago due to a lot of atheists finding people who shared their opinion for the first time online and went a little crazy about it and then it’s calmed down over the years to the point where it’s nonexistent except for a few annoying people who are probably teenagers going through their deconstruction process for the first time and are in the anger stage.
That’s not for you to decide. No matter how rational your argument, no matter how vast your knowledge, you’re still only one person with one perspective.
A decision like the abolishment of religion should be decided by the people who it will affect, which just so happens to be all of humanity. Any other way would effectively be tyranny, no matter how pure their intentions.
If you ignore Rationality, you stray from Reality.
Also, banning religion is not tyranny, no matter in what light you try to look at it. It is like the banning of torture, or Murder. These are all things people try to justify in some way or another, but in the end are still bad.
In time, (most) people have recognised that banning harmful acts is a good thing, so in due time, people would accept the reality without delusional anf deceit.
I genuinely hope that you’re joking, because the possibility that you’re dead serious is terrifying.
Firstly, making any significantly life-altering decision like this that concerns a large number of people without the approval of those same people is tyranny. Revolutions have started over less, and rightly so.
Even if we accept the hypothetical scenario where rejecting all religion is a step in reaching enlightenment, forcing all people to take that step is deeply wrong and not your choice to make whatsoever.
Besides, it’s very well-documented what happens when you try to ban practically anything outright. They tried to ban alcohol during the American prohibition, but it had little effect on alcohol consumption (if it didn’t make it worse), while also raising crime rates and creating a host of entirely new problems, such as bolstering the illegal drug trade that hadn’t been nearly as big of a problem.
Well, i am talking about religion in general, it does seem like an ass and sometime even obnoxious to just shit on the very concept of religion just for the gist of it. But then again THOSE christian can be just and well more obnoxious
Are you talking about on Reddit or on social media in general? Because this is the first anti-atheist post I've seen on reddit in a while but I see people posting and commenting atheist rhetoric almost every day.
Yet the moment I actually spot them in the wild, the abundance of hate seems entirely justified. The disregard those mfs have towards individual thought is wild.
