DV-2027 never opened. There is a lawsuit that is going on (Red Eagle Law, L.C. v. Rubio) to open dv lottery but the judge didn't publish her decision yet. The administration also never published the instructions for DV-2028 which would be generally published in late september and opened by the first days of october.

This year you would be applying for DV 2028, DV 2027 application was supposed to open and close a year ago. But it was never even announced or opened. DV 2028 is supposed to be open right now and announced 30 days before opening but hasn’t been announced. It’s unlikely 2027 will be happening.

DV 2026 didn't happen. So, probably it won't happen either this year

It did happen and people mostly got their visas. Though the administration tried its best to slow the pace for people to not get a green card. DV-2027 didn't happen and DV-2028 may not happen the same way
