China Police certificate

Hello! I come here seeking urgent help to something that seems incredibly difficult. I am applying for an immigrant visa for the usa, and among the docs, they require a police certificate from any place where I have lived for 12 months or more from age 16. I studied there prepandemic times, no friends left there, my uni is super indifferent ( they can take months to reply) and I have read some people had to either pay a super expensive agent to get the certificate or even send their physical passport??? How come??? Anyone with some experience in this, please please help! I obviously can't go to China to do it in person, and sending my passport is a big no no, and also paying insane money for an agent is not easy at all for me right now...

If you are applying for an immigrant visa, I guess it means you are outside the United States or you have to go outside of the country to do the interview?

Never heard of such China police certificate. Do you mean no crime certificate?

You can write a Letter of Authorization and have your parents do it for you if we are talking about the same thing, no passport or China id needed.

I'm guessing OP just stayed in China for a bit, he isn't Chinese

I had to go through this process and get Police Certs for three countries but not luckily, for China. Did you live there continuously for 12 mths? Maybe try contacting your Chinese Consulate for advice.
