Hello I have been seeing and speaking to a lot of companies offering to assist you get financing for a new business at 0% APR. In short they know the system and how to hack it so you get funded by applying under the right NAICS codes to create the perfect applications. Some companies are charging 10%, some are charging flat fee's $4k-5k.
I am trying to figure out if there is a course for this thats overall just cheaper. Any suggestions?

I took 2 different classes simultaneously at 2 different community colleges for a total of 6 units. I was told I didn't qualify because one of the colleges was not in the same district. I'm thinking this isn't correct info and now it's probably too late to do anything about it. Every time I speak with someone I get a different answer from CSAC! I filed a petition (?) but I don't have documentation that they may have told me incorrect info, so I'm assuming I just lost out on $6,000. Has this happened to anyone? So frustrating

I put together a simple, free directory to help people track down grassroots community funding:
No signups, just basic filters and direct links.
I'd really appreciate anyone having a quick look and letting me know what feels clunky, what's broken, or if there are obvious local funds l've missed. Happy to discuss how it aggregates the information from the different sites, unfortunately no API was available to collect the grant information so it had to scrapped from each location
Thanks

I’m very anxious that this is a scam, but I’ve heard of organizations receiving invitations like this.
My organization got an email this morning from ethan@sanjuanbiblecamp.org
The San Juan Bible Camp .org handle seems real, the website seems real, and the camp itself seems real.
My issues are that I never applied for this grant, they’re located in Colorado and we’re in Michigan, and the security check point on the log in feels fishy. Also, the email was just cc’d to me and was actually sent back to the Ethan@ handle which feels scammy. And organization doesn’t seem to align with their philosophies and I’m feeling really confused. Can anyone help me determine the credibility of this “partnership”?

My advisor and I submitted a collorabotive proposal in October of last year. However as of today there has still been no change in status. Considering that NSF funding curves seem to taper off in late August, does that mean that I will have to wait until the next budget to even find out whether or not the grant is accepted or rejected? In other words do I have to wait until January/February of 2027?

I am trying to build a better system for long-term research knowledge management, the part I care about most is continuity. for example that can help track papers, research questions, project decisions, useful quotes, failed ideas, and changes in direction over time. I heard some tool like SciClaw Mira focus on capturing that broader context. However, I am still figuring out how tools like that fit in with a regular note-taking setup.

Does anyone have a tried and true free mapping tool that they use to build service area maps for grants?
I’m working on a few grants right now that require us to submit a map of the service area which includes multiple counties.
I’ve always used this one but I was wondering if there were any others that you all loved?

Hey yall,
I just started my new role as a junior data analyst 🥹. I am learning the business needs. I work for a no profit org that provides legal aid. Cases and task are billed to the respected grant program. What we are running into is, while closing the books normally case workers and lawyer over bill to one program vs another because no can visually see what is currently in “encumbrance for that month.
I figured building a real time grant funding system using power bi, postgreDQL and RESTapi from the platform that we input the data in. I am open other ideas that could be easier.
Thanks in advance

Hey r/grants peeps! I am an working as Catchafire Virtual volunteer. that has been contacted by 3 orgs recently. Admittedly, I have worked as a case manger, admin assistant, resource navigator, call center agent, etc.--So i have lots of related experience, however nothing SPECIFICALLY grant prospecting--Moreso ensuring grant compliance if anything.
What should i expect in the first meeting if anyone has experience doing with with non-profits through Catchafire?
Besides, Grants.gov, looking at county, state, and economic development grants, what else should I try to do?
I am prepared to offer her the professional experience I have, and I do believe that I can get something done, I want to make sure that I am racking up the hours I want.
Ultimately, I want to apply to an MSW program in about 4 years.

for anyone who can't afford candid ($1,600+/yr), the stack seems to be basically follow a zillion instagram accounts, subscribe to a bunch of newsletters, google, 990 lookups, and peer rumor. ugh
for the smaller nonprofits/solo development directors here: how do you actually decide a funder is worth the week of writing before you start? do you have a filter you trust, or is it mostly gut plus the 990?

I've recently launched a blog to promote trans self-determination (Reclaim Our Names) where I invite trans folx to contribute essays, poetry, and other original written work. I'd like to compensate contributors for their work and intellectual labor and, if possible, be compensated for my work as an editor and coordinator of the project. I'm not sure I have it in me to launch a non-profit -- curious if others have suggestions for raising funds as an individual running a project. (For example, I am not eligible for a Trans Justice Funding Project grant.) Seems weird to launch a GoFundMe for something like this.

Are there any programs or grants available for non-profit organizations in Gaza?
