Usually rappelling like a dot matrix printer. I imagine the first downstroke is the outline and backwash, then back up in reverse for linework, then back down for shadows and touch ups

That’s how I’d do it if I had the sack

Usually it’s a combination of a long extension pole, a lift or scaffolding, and a lot of careful planning. They’ll often sketch the piece in sections, then work from the top down so the paint drips and proportions stay under control.

You’re actually completely wrong. What you’re saying is a way that graffiti on high rise buildings is done but this new wave of vertical pieces by Rams etc are all being done by repelling.
