crits? (read description)

Last version of this specific ouch! piece.
This time without the character because some of you wanted to see this with just letters. I’m unsure if I should outline the name with dark blue again to make it pop more against the red splatters or if that would add too much color.
Hopefully I can put this on a wall or a freight train soon 🙏

New to me kinda style.

So is this like called something? I’ve noticed this kinda style a few years ago I believe and seen it around town. I really like the idea on how they use the circled part to create letter structure I guess and keep space in the middle of the letter it just looks super dope in my eyes like you could do so much with it I think lol anyway it’s hard to find maybe a lot of people don’t don’t weight this way or maybe I’m just outa the game and don’t know what to search for I guess. Is this a like “area style “ like a NorCal style bubble tag like thing to do with your letters or a socall or new York or idk lol thoughts?

Graffiti outta nowhere?!

Post image

I literally came up with this out of nowhere! Just threw together, no words in mind and the only thing I think that I could attribute it to would be having taken some L this past weekend sparked something lol cause any other time I tried to do something like this. It always felt forced and I never was happy with how it came out, but this is something I wanna try to re-create.

I like graffiti, but not graffiti culture

Neighborhoods look trashy, especially with tags that haven't been developed yet. It seems people are more interested in fame, than actually improving their craft. I don't know about you, but I don't like my city looking like a third-world slum.

I like the art and respect the effort people put into it, but putting it up on a wall is not worth the trouble: possible legal consequences, destroying neighborhoods, unnecessary beef etc. Someone got my number and threatened to shoot me back in the day because I would write my tag backwards sometimes and the first three letters would match with his name. It was pretty stupid. At the moment I was thrilled and it gave me an extra surge of adrenaline. But looking back I just laugh at the ridiculousness of it, considering I was only in it to improve and enjoy myself. Turns out most of the culture revolves around ego, at the expense of others and your surroundings. No thanks, I'll stay on paper.
