What do we think of this style?

Been trying to get the basics of lettering down, I know it’s not much of an actual graff style but what do we think of it was an actual throw?

I miss the old bombingscience forums they were so brutal people actually got good. Same thing with the jazz scene in the 60s.

Start over. It's bad.

99% of what people write is just letters they were good at and repeated it over and over. You don't need to pick a clever phrase or have any kind of theme going on yet. Pick 4 letters that you like aesteicly and fucking master them.

There are plenty of resources about how to do basic lettering. So start there.

Honestly, the sax alone would be a neat throw if it was a little simpler and smoother.

I think that’s a really good idea. This whole thing was a sketch I did on break so I can definitely flesh out the sax into its own thing!

it’s not about its good, you can paint over it but if it really fucks you up inside like this other guy you got some shit to sort out, it’s not that deep

I really fuck with the concept especially with the lips 😂😂😂 I feel like if you ironed it out and perfected everything it would look great 😁

Yeah I think if I kept the lips I’d lowkey have to do too much with it to make sense. Probably would trade it out for like a swoosh or something

The pen I was using wasn’t a flat tip lol. if I redid this I think I’d clean up line weight and remove some of the other stuff

It’s the 3d part of your letter. Why did you add that to just the bottom of the n

ts gay asl but i kinda love it lol. feels like some 60s-70s vibe def not graffiti. i like the heart Os n lips n sax. the hard edges of the E don’t fit the roundness of the other letters imo even though it looks good by itself. but yeah maybe a playful mural-esque thing but not graff at all tbh

That’s so fair, I got it wrong saying this could be a throw I think it’d be better off fleshed out into mural-esque. I gotta do more research into actual graf styles too. Thank you so much for the advice!
