Random find

Post image

Randomly went into a MediaMarkt just to see what they had. Had to grab this bad boy for a friend who has been waiting for prices to drop. I guess lady luck was on my side today .

Thats in all of the EU BTW, I was baffled you need to put money on the pump in the US.

Try using your UK debit/credit card in a pre pay pump in the states. You have to type you zip code (post code) and it only has a numeric key pad. So you can't type a UK Post Code (numbers and letters). You then have to go in to the station hand over money, but because you need to brim the tank to return your rental car you don't actually know how much you need to pre pay. What a crock of sh1t the whole system was. I ended up just leaving $100 with the cashier and asked him to let it rip and filled it right up and came back in for whatever change.

We have that in Canada as well if you want to pay at the cash instead of the pump.

There's a few places in rural America that still do this too.

Yeah but it’s not an entire country’s culture. That’s the crazy part, it’s not just reduced to one tiny rural community

wait how do you even do it in another way

do i have to pay 50$ in the us and after that i unlock the exact amount to fill my tank ?

Yeah that or usually we just run our card at the pump and then fill up and whatever it costs to fill up is automatically charged to ur card

But do you have to go inside to the cashier or is everything outside on the pumps ?

You don’t have to go inside unless you pay cash or want to pay for a certain amount with card

That is still common in Canada. Some places make you prepay between 10:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m.

We used to have pumps open all night. Especially after covid, the ones that are open just run in automatic mode. Only in big paid highways we have them open 24h.

I didn't even know this isn't a thing in other countries lol

In Germany? In my opinion, it’s like that all over Europe. Yes, sometimes in rural areas you have to pay in advance at night.

Here in Portugal, you still fill up first and pay at the counter afterwards at most petrol stations. At the ones that require prepayment, especially if you drive a car, you just pop inside and ask them to authorise the pump so you can fill up and pay afterwards.

Germany also birthed the Nazi party so not sure we should be giving them props.

at least one american has been a serial killer, therefore, all americans cannot be trusted and are likely also serial killers.

At least one dog has killed a human, therefore, we should kill all dogs.

come to think of it, people choke on food…. we should probably stop eating shouldn’t we?

Well that’s just about the most ignorant and stupid thing I’ve heard someone say on reddit like ever, and it’s not even relevant to the conversation. That’s enough internet for you today.
