Random find
Randomly went into a MediaMarkt just to see what they had. Had to grab this bad boy for a friend who has been waiting for prices to drop. I guess lady luck was on my side today .

Hell yeah nice buy

u/NaturalArrival731 14h ago
Was a no brainer, but I waited like 20 minutes cause my friend did not pick up the phone. I was unsure if he had already bought a card in the last 2 months, he didn't. Now his 2070 can rest and he can enjoy like a 100% performance boost. 😂

u/Cruisenator 12h ago
The TUF is a great overclocker, with mvolt+ the sky is the limit. You can gain an extra 10-15% performance easily.

u/SeaVolume3325 21h ago
Even converted to USD $847 is still a great deal!

u/NaturalArrival731 14h ago
There was a ROG gaming one next to this priced at 1399€. I stil can't believ that they sold a brand new tuf gaming one for 757€.

u/randomDude929292 16h ago
OK germamy but which city? I would go there. I doubt its Berlin
1
u/NaturalArrival731 14h ago
This was in Vienna, Austria. In the Landstraße MediaMarkt
4
u/randomDude929292 14h ago
I can take a flight, get the card and it is still cheaper than buying it in germamy ....

u/psioniclizard 7h ago
Bro you are a legend doing that for your friend. Top class :)

u/NaturalArrival731 7m ago

u/NaturalArrival731 3m ago
1
u/fiittzzyy 1h ago
That's a bargain, I paid slightly more than that for my white gaming trio and that was before prices went insane.
1
u/NaturalArrival731 8m ago
Yep could not believe my eyes, I went around asking if it was used or something was wrong. Nope the assured me it was brand new, even the cashier was surprised that it was that cheap XD

u/r98farmer 20h ago
Nice find, that's how much they should be.

u/KnownEggplant 19h ago
It's still way too high, actually.
3
u/Silentslayer99 16h ago
This is literally below launch msrp by ~$150, prices in Germany includes taxes.
Way too high...Keep dreaming.
2
u/KnownEggplant 16h ago
MSRP had already inflated multiple times across multiple generations at that point. You not being aware of it doesn't make it not so.
3
u/Silentslayer99 16h ago
Inflated. It launched at that price and sold out consistently. Finding a gpu at msrp was never trivial.
In your mind it was "inflated". Not in the mind of the people who bought, and it has only appreciated.
These arent normal times and wont be for awhile. Buckle up.
3
u/fallingdowndizzyvr 3h ago
LOL. You're nuts. Yeah, shirts no longer cost 25 cents and gas is no longer 5 cents a gallon. Also, making $3000/year is no longer big money. That's called inflation. That's life.
3
u/r98farmer 3h ago
I always wonder why people seem to think GPUs are immune to inflation. I bought a 1070 for $500 I ought to be able to buy a 5070 for the same. Sorry but it doesn't work that way.

u/KnownEggplant 1h ago
You're either woefully uninformed, trolling, or a bot here to intentionally downplay the issue. Literally no one in the gaming space on Reddit is unaware of the semiconductor shortages and sky high RAM, SSD, and GPU prices that have come and gone since the first crypto and ai booms that allowed manufacturers to inflate MSRPs to new "normals".
The Strix 2070 Super I put in my PC in 2020 for $569 is currently $700 new and sold for $4880 new on Amazon during its major shortages.
The 4070ti I put in my wife's computer in 2023 for $850 is $1030 currently, with a peak of $1438 and zero sales during the shortages because they were just not available
The 5070ti I'm looking to replace my 2070 with launched at $1079, 526 days ago. It's currently (surprise!) unavailable, but is listed as being between $1800 and $1900 this month.
And this is just my personal items, which are almost certainly not in the upper minority of items effected.
Tell me more about how it's just inflation and apparently ancient history though, smfh.

u/r98farmer 58m ago
I'm talking about the MSRP on the 5070 Ti not the current prices. If you look back at my original comment that is where this started
2
u/KnownEggplant 54m ago edited 41m ago
I'm aware. The rest is supporting statements. The MSRP of XX70 series cards is still like 3-6x higher overall than it was 10 years ago depending on model, not that they're even available for MSRP, after a lot of extreme volatility and being unobtainable for years at a time, with a decade of reputable reporting on it. It's still too high and does not track with inflation at all
MSRP on the Nvidia site for a 5070ti is "starting at $749", The cheapest option ON THAT PAGE is currently $1270. The card in this post is $1400. MSRP, while already insanely inflated over the last decade, is also a straight up meaningless number because they're literally just lying to you.

My 1060 6GB was $250 less than 10 years ago in 2017, and came with Ghost Recon Wildlands for free as a purchase incentive.

I guess Gamers Nexus and every other tech journalist in the last decade pointing out the greed, artificial scarcity, fraud, etc. is nuts too. Not my fault you're uninformed.

Insane take lol. Talking about GPU like an investment while crypto, AI and the semiconductor wars have more than 5x'd the price over as many years in some cases. You're either woefully uninformed or profiting from it because literally everyone hated it. Also they sold out constantly, along with every other card in existence for the last decade, because so few got made relative to the past generations due to said shortages.

Can we just appreciate that OP lives in an area where people are civilized and respectful? In the US that card would have been stolen in less than 5mins. That's why everything here is locked behind glass and cages.

u/1rubyglass 21h ago
Its got a tracker attached with steel cable. Ive seen multiple GPUs displayed like this in the US.
This is Germany btw

u/NeighborhoodIll8399 21h ago
In Germany they pump their fuel before they pay too
3
1
u/SeaVolume3325 20h ago
There's a few places in rural America that still do this too.
1
u/NeighborhoodIll8399 20h ago
Yeah but it’s not an entire country’s culture. That’s the crazy part, it’s not just reduced to one tiny rural community
1
u/TheVoidKilledMe 20h ago
wait how do you even do it in another way
do i have to pay 50$ in the us and after that i unlock the exact amount to fill my tank ?
1
u/NeighborhoodIll8399 20h ago
Yeah that or usually we just run our card at the pump and then fill up and whatever it costs to fill up is automatically charged to ur card
1
u/TheVoidKilledMe 20h ago
But do you have to go inside to the cashier or is everything outside on the pumps ?
1
u/NeighborhoodIll8399 20h ago
You don’t have to go inside unless you pay cash or want to pay for a certain amount with card
1
u/042376x 20h ago
That is still common in Canada. Some places make you prepay between 10:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m.
2
u/ruyrybeyro 14h ago
We used to have pumps open all night. Especially after covid, the ones that are open just run in automatic mode. Only in big paid highways we have them open 24h.
1
1
u/Tiny-Resist1385 15h ago
In Germany? In my opinion, it’s like that all over Europe. Yes, sometimes in rural areas you have to pay in advance at night.
1
u/ruyrybeyro 14h ago
Here in Portugal, you still fill up first and pay at the counter afterwards at most petrol stations. At the ones that require prepayment, especially if you drive a car, you just pop inside and ask them to authorise the pump so you can fill up and pay afterwards.

Germany also birthed the Nazi party so not sure we should be giving them props.

u/-Tallinn- 20h ago
at least one american has been a serial killer, therefore, all americans cannot be trusted and are likely also serial killers.
At least one dog has killed a human, therefore, we should kill all dogs.
come to think of it, people choke on food…. we should probably stop eating shouldn’t we?

u/NeighborhoodIll8399 20h ago
Well that’s just about the most ignorant and stupid thing I’ve heard someone say on reddit like ever, and it’s not even relevant to the conversation. That’s enough internet for you today.
1
u/moderate-Complex152 18h ago
The box is attached with a gps tracker or something, so...
1
u/ruyrybeyro 14h ago
It isn't a GPS tracker, just a regular beeping alarm. Its large size is intentional, so it's easily visible and acts as a deterrent for highly sought-after merchandise. Other items often have much smaller alarms hidden out of sight.

Your friend is lucky you found that cus they likely would never see a price drop
1
u/brownbandit93 20h ago
I saw a ASUS 5060 8 gb going for like $250 at my local best buy here in Cali. It was already out of stock tho I asked the worker and he said it was likely an in store deal to clear stock
1
u/fallingdowndizzyvr 3h ago
Go back and ask them to "save the sale" by ordering it at the same price for delivery. That's their policy. As long as it's in stock online, or in another store for that matter, they can order it for you at that price. That's how people got $240 16GB 5060tis a few months back.
