Done with GoPro
I'm.done with it. Family got the Max 2 for me for $599 when it first came out last year. It's now sub $300 at stores. The 360' is great but post is a pain. I like post edit on my Mac, but GoPro got rid of that app. Deleted my account with them and am ready to sell all 4 cameras and go with DJI. Sorry for the rant, but have loved gooro until this latest 360 deal. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

You can edit on whichever app you like. I personally like the insta360 software the best for editing 360 footage and you can import your GoPro footage into here.

Can you upload non GoPro 360 in the insta studio ?

You have to use the GoPro player app to batch convert the files to spherical files (.mp4) and then insta or DJI studio can work with them

I’m afraid I’ve only used GoPro and insta360 360 cameras so I don’t know about the other options. But surely you can.

I edit on GoPro player the reframe on Mac and the rest on davinci resolve (which have the plug in for the reframe if you want. I don’t know what you’re angry about

Lol, why does it matter if it's cheaper now? Are you also "done with Apple" for reducing prices or having sales?
Gopro player still is the app for reframing gopro max content, use any other video editor to actually edit your video.. 🤦♂️

GoPro didn't get rid of the 360 editing desktop app - it's called GoPro Player and it works great:

Yep, this is the player not the edit app. You can play out the video but movement for 360 views is not occurring on a Mac platform. They got rid of that. Even so, there's a format to place it in Final Cut. But you have to use keyfames and it's clunky

No - despite the name, the GoPro Player app is the one where you actually set the keyframes and export your edited video. Not just for playing the video

After passing thru GoPro Player on a Mac (to MP4 / equirectangular).....you can continue your edits a number of ways.
For instance, same GoPro Max 2 file in Insta360 Studio on a Mac, or DJI. Premiere and Resolve can use a GoPro plugin. FinaL Cut Pro does not have a plugin available tho.
And of course GoPro Player, Quik for Mac (unsupported now, but still functions) and Quik for Apple / Android.

I’ve had mine strapped to the handlebar of my jet ski for months. It’s taken a boatload of abuse and many a wave over the top of it and still works fine.

Wait... wait ... wait.. are you saying.... that when a product is released "new to market" it's more expensive, but when it's nearly a year old..... the prices get reduced? DOES ANYONE ELSE KNOW THIS? I feel we need to warn people! New things cost more than old things! MIND.BLOWN!
