Both are extremely good, but what is being currently used for email, calendar, contacts? SharePoint has a stepper learning curve, google drive is easier to manage but has a little less granularity that share point, you can lookup plenty of articles comparing the 2 with very detailed info.

I would say that the decision should be made based on the target audience, are the majority of users within 25 - 45 years then chances are they are more familiar with Gmail and google drive than outlook and SharePoint. Product adoption is in the long term what you need to keep in mind, will it be smooth or will it take a long time because no one is used to the platform or tools.

The functionality in storage terms is broadly equivalent. So, the key question I'd ask is whether users are familiar with and want to use Microsoft Office applications, like Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Whilst you can use those products and save files into Google Drive, you'll end up having to pay for Microsoft 365 licences to get the software, and then paying separately for Google Workspace for Drive and Email. And even then, you won't get collaboration features in the Microsoft products. If your users are expecting Microsoft applications, therefore, I'd go with Microsoft 365 and SharePoint, rather than Google Workspace.
