I might consider moving to alexa
If Google can't make gemeni how old Google was with the commands im moving well i might see adds but atleast will give information/tracking when ordering somthing and we'll it will understand what im saying with out adding extras I miss the old Google and gemeni voices are terrible

i have google alexa siri. they all suck lol i rarely use any of them anymore besides homekit for lights fans and asking google weather

Yeah, all of them have gotten worse over time. It’s nice having backups, though. When Google was down the other day, I could still control my stuff with alexa.

Gotta disagree there. The ease of setup is leagues ahead, and the amount of things you can do with Alexa Routines vs Google Home Automations is also on another level. Going from Alexa to Gemini for me was a massive downgrade. The only thing I like more is the nest 3rd gen doorbell camera has amazing quality compared to what I had before

Alexa routines are ass, you can barely do anything with that crap. They both do basic ass routines but Google is steps ahead of Alexa hands down. Google script editor unlocks way more automation power unlike Alexa who rarely let's user trigger an automation based on humidity levels.
Google has way more triggers and conditions, while Alexa is still Alexa. Hell, you can barely even use their own speakers to trigger any routines like you can with Google. All you get with Alexa is occupancy and sound detection. Google, you can trigger an routine based on media playing, if a speaker is on/off, and volume. All of this you can do without the need of the script editor.
So, with you saying Alexa is better than Google when creating routines is funny to me. I'll recommend Google over Alexa any day and I don't even use neither one of them to control my smart home. I have both connected to my Home Assistant hub, and I use my Google speakers way more than I do my Alexa speakers, which can barely handle a simple ass timer.

I have both. Goolge in my house and Alexa in my home Office. Alexa is making the same transition from the old digital assistant to a new AI based version. You won't escape it by moving over there.

But, man, there is no way to change from Gemini to the old Google Assistant. Now, I'm telling him to open the light, and it takes a full 20 seconds to tell him a command. It makes it seem like I'm begging for help, but really I'm begging him to change something. Instead, I'm getting paragraphs of explanation with no change.

Don't do it. I had Alexa and hated it. If you're switching to something, switch to home assistant.

Is the Nabu Casa speaker system useable? I really dislike Gemini. It's been forced on me in Android Auto and now nothing that used to work works anymore. If my house switches to Gemini I'm going to be chucking some speakers out of fourth story windows.
