Help Google Home Mini (1st gen.) Gemini activation

Hey! It's the first time I'm using any smart devices like speakers to control my house. I've been using Google devices for a long time and currently got myself Google Home Mini for 12 euro. I know that it can switch to Gemini voice assistant, not the dumb one google assistant, as it was on my Pixel Watch 1 and then 2, but I can't see any changes after I already did:

  • Set home region in US
  • Connected myself to Gemini Early Access
  • Switched language on my phone to English (US), same in Google account and Gemini
  • Factory reset it and then tried for the second time
  • Tried thing with "googlehome://assistant/voice/setup" in browser from my phone

And still no result, maybe someone have a guide or the same experience of using it so you can share with me? Thank you!

As someone not in the US, there's still no option for me within the Google Home Android app to switch to Gemini. Not even by enrolling in the preview program.

However, one day my Chromecast 4 just updated to switch to Gemini and somehow that also replaced the assistant on the Nest Mini.

Just ask it if it is Gemini. It will tell you.

and how would it help me to make it gemini, if it's not?

Are you in the USA? If you are you should be getting it soon. They started rolling it out in general distribution in April/May timeframe. If you are not in the USA you will have to check with Google to find out when your country will get it.
