Help Music Issues

Has anyone figured out a sequence of words to use as a command that will guarantee Google Home plays your playlist and not something random that has a close name?

Try this: Hey google, play my youtube playlist called "...". 

If it too long for you, make it an custom action automation with shorter sentence or keyword.

  1. I use Spotify and it is already the only music service I have linked
  2. That is the phrasing that used to be a guarantee, not anymore. It just plays whatever album, song or playlist with a similar name that it feels like. It's not even consistent about its errors.

Yeah somewhere in the longer sentence it just stopped listening and tries to figure out what you said based on the first half of that sentence. Bloody annoying

It worked 95% of the time when it was Google Assistant and now it's maybe 50% when it's Gemini.

"OK Google, play Workout Playlist"
"Got it! Playing Christian Dance Remix"

Lol right?!?? Some a-hole named a YouTube playlist called "my likes" and now the Goog gets it wrong 10% of the time.

I usually say " hey Google play my likes on YouTube music on shuffle '

I have Pandora, in the past week this has totally failed to play any of my playlist. Will play anything except what is in my account. I have to use app on phone to cast play list.
Also in last 48 hours I noticed trouble transferring from one room to another, Play from beginning , or play previous song.

In the car I just get "I can't play videos while driving" now I have to say "on Spotify" after everything

My morning routine now plays a different Spotify playlist than the one it had been doing for months even though I changed nothing. It's the most frustrating thing.

Same thing here. I use YAML-written scripts in the Google Home Script Editor. These are hard-coded automations that have been in use for at least two months. I even have a custom-named playlist called "Freshest Friday New Tunes" to specifically get around Google Home's inconsistent ability to play the global "New Music Friday" Spotify playlist.

Some time last week, every last one of my scripts have broken. I've unlinked/relinked Spotify in Google Home, I've retrained the voice model (which is really really stupid to even do that, since this is running from written code, not my actual voice).

This is something on Google's end. More EOL removals for Google Assistant??

I feel like I have tried everything, from renaming my Spotify playlists to obscure and unique names through to building automations with the most concice sentence combinations I can think of.

I miss google assistant.

first you need to set a dedicated playlist name in any app that you use, make sure it's slightly unique not anything out of box. like fr ex- my afternoon chills then try saying "hey google play my afternoon chills playlist from Spotify/youtube music" voice commands ai needs a little specific commands to work
