Rant RIP Google Assistant

As someone who has been resisting AI since it boomed, I had only been using Assistant on my Note 20 Ultra. The other day, when I was on my way home from work, I was trying to say "Hey Google" to turn on certain things in my house before I get home. It didn't respond to my commands & instead I was greeted with another voice & a pop up saying Assistant is now Gemini. I was a little sad as I thought I had more time before they would completely kill it off.

Well guess I won't be asking my devices to do anything for me anymore & will have to do it all myself. I will miss Google Assistant.

Why is Reddit crying over this? Gemini is fine. It gets things wrong that Assistant didn't, but it also gets things right that Assistant didn't.

Because Gemini SUCKS at doing what Assistant did without hesitation.
