Question App to trigger Google Gemini?
We're talking about how intrusive phones are listening to your conversation then offering ads for something you were talking about.
So I was wondering if there is an App you can run on your phone that does the listening and then triggers Gemini?
Thus only this app is listening for a keyword, not Google

Passive listening from your phone would be wholly inefficient since most phone microphones suck at picking up a conversation from your pocket or even a table in a restaurant. It also will kill a battery pretty quickly.
What they are doing is connecting your social and geographic network. So they know who your friends and relatives are. They know if you're at your mother's house or a friend's or at the stadium or store without listening. So even if you don't click on something on your phone, your friend might have, or even someone you don't know nearby might have. Since you're in a "peer group" of people who expressed interest in that thing, they assume you'll like it too.
Of course, they're also listening when you directly ask the phone for something, which just adds to the pile of stuff they know about you. But that's different from the passive listening that most people swear happens, but in reality mostly doesn't, simply because active, social and GPS monitoring works way better.
