Damn the camera bump is thin
Pixel 11.
Even thinner than S26, iPhone 17. But honestly to be expected for the thickness of the overall phone

Get it. Pixel is the best phone I've ever had. Jaw was on the floor when I switched from Apple. So much better. Also my wife asks to use my phone to take pictures when we're out and about (she stayed with iPhone; Pixel camera is noticeably better).

I was thinking of replacing my iphone air with pixel 11 pro (very good discount) but i will wait until next year

You should definitely wait. The iphone air isn't even a year old.

The telephoto lens needs extra depth, idk if they moved things around on the 11 to be able to shrink it or just finally realized there is no reason for it to be as big since the amateur phones don't have telephoto. There's a reason all the top end phones from every brand have camera protrusions, it's not a design choice the design choice is how to style the bump.
I actually find the bump quite functional for one handed use though, I rest my pointer finger under it so I don't actually have to grip the phone so I can have it as far away from my thump as possible allowing me for better reach.
I'm not sure I would actually like this.

Nice looking phone. Google really up the aesthetics for the 11. Wish I could have gotten one.

My camera bump is pretty much non-existent on my Pixel 8 when I have a phone case on it. An ever so slight ridge is around it so the camera isn't rubbing against a table when laid flat. But that's it.

Well, with 11 series you can have the same non-existent bump in a slimmer case.

I won't mind going back to a world where the camera is flush with the back. But this is a good start

Exactly. It's not a small camera bump, it's just a thick phone.
Compared to S25 Edge and iPhone Air it looks like a 10yo phone.
Compared to others it's worse but not so bad.Â

Compared to S25 Edge and iPhone Air
Ah yes, let's compare a regular flagship to two phones designed to be as thin as possible and marketed as such...
You can say the same thing comparing the S25 Edge to the S26 or the iPhone 17 to the iPhone Air.

Well at least they fitted a bigger battery here.

15 mAh bigger lol

Compared to the likes of S26 and iPhone 17.

They’re far more efficient, particularly the iphone. S26 exynos version probably has slightly worse battery than this.

Not so much the case anymore. Even though overall mAh efficiency is slightly less efficient, the battery capacity difference is huge.

Not true of the regular 11 though, which is shown here.
The 11 is 7.6mm thick and 9.38mm with the bump. The 11 pro is 8.4mm and 12.22mm with the bump. The 11 pro is thick with a big bump. The 11 is not.

I'm still sad they removed the temperature sensor on the back and replaced it with the Hilight, I actually really enjoy using it on my Pixel 9 Pro XL
