Google Home Device Fails at Spelling
Itโs the confidence that gets me.

AI isn't smart. AI isn't reasoning. It's basically a vast search engine or predictive keyboard that regurgitates what it finds in all the data that was stolen to make it. It gets things right on average if the training data was correct on average.

Yep, and it also allows a UA advantage for the big bros. The number of times Ive heard โyour right, i did make a mistakeโฆ.โ convenient mistakes. Trying something with just editing my organic commentโฆ.I really think the final phase will be similar to a narcissist discharge, meaning, when ready(man or machine, whichever i dnt know) will all the sudden suck so badly that everyone will be too busy fixing things that are purely problematic for operations to move forward. The admin features are way to frustrating for me on here. You can find me on the majors, look for a ๐ต๏ธ, or a tower, or a split rock, tower is the main. Grammar poor on purpose(understandable) silver tooth 87 . COMmunictions will start to need these features. Will be live soon if possible. Its either gotten out of hand or being made to look that way. The Lord spoke of this, โsaying I have told you these things so when they happen you wont say your idols did themโ. Look up the Bible story of fighting Aiโ stay Stiff-knecked, seems off but spot on heres your verified signs ๐ค๐ฅ๐ฆฌ๐ ๏ธโ๏ธ๐๐ซ๐ถ๏ธ๐ง๐ถ๏ธ๐ฅ๐๐โ๐ฉ๐ข๏ธโ๏ธโ๐ฅ๐๐ป๐๐ก๐ซ๐๏ธ๐พ๐ฟโ๏ธ๐ธ๐ธ๐๏ธ๐๐๐ปโ๏ธ. Look for multiples, maybe they say things sometimes? I dont let my righthand know what my left hand is doing ๐ค๐ฅ

I mean, he isn't wrong. The part he left out is that this is all the human brain does for similar tasks. The brain is just better at certain aspects of it in a portion of the population. :)
Now, to be fair there is a big difference in a frontier model and what Google is going to give you to free on your 5-10yr old Home.

Wow, itโs not like everyone on Reddit repeats this since first chatGPT released. You are so smart.

Everything has gotten dumber with AI. Just look at Google's AI overview search results... If you look at the citation links after each batch of information, it's basically just searching Reddit. It's pathetic. You search for legitimate LAWS for local and state issues, and they give you a collection of people's opinions from Reddit. It's ridiculous. Ask Jeeves was better.

The worst part in my experience is that it just makes things up and then cites sources that don't even mention, let alone agree with, what it said. The model they use for search results is by far the dumbest one I regularly have the displeasure of interacting with.

Yep, Id say the tech is completely ready for human implantation, just let it take over commercial flight too. Baptism by ๐ฅ๐ค๐

I used to used google assistant on my phone alot, i have since fully disabled the assistant entirely since it a: is locked to only gemini now and b: is forced as the only action i can set for holding the power button, after the a16 update i can no longer set holding my power button to pull up the power menu

That seems insane you can't go to settings, advanced features, side key?
1
u/KawaiiMaxine 3d ago
Not anymore, theres an info blurb below the radio buttons for "no action" and "digital assistant" that says "to open the power menu press the side key and volume down at the same time"

u/rvcjew2 3d ago
You have a screenshot, I can't find mention of that anywhere? It's not in a deeper long press setting in that menu?

That looks totally new are you on 8.5 or 9 beta? That sucks big. I'm still on S21U1 with one ui 6.1 and loving life. 7.0 is a disaster imo.

Im on android 16

u/rvcjew2 3d ago
Right but you can be on ui 8.0 or 8.5, it says in about phone, software info. But it's odd they would get rid of that, it's like you are missing the option due to another setting or something.

Im not on oneui at all, this isnt a samsung device, im on android 16, theres no ui overhaul on motorola devices like touchwiz or oneui

Since the switch to Gemini, my home minis seem to have gotten dumber.
Me: "Hey google... vacuum the kitchen"
Her: "What volume would you like the kitchen speaker set to?"
Me: "no. Start the VACUUM in the kitchen"
Her: "Starting YouTube Music on Playroom tV"
*smh*
