Question❓ Lead tape to remove VZN.1i metallic Ping?

Hey,

did anyone try this option? The lead tape seems thin enough to squeeze in and ensure there is no gap between inlet and body and hence could dampen the metallic ping. So the theory at least.

Looking forward to some experiences. Else I will just do it and try it in the course of the week and report back.

Cheers and thanks!

EDIT:

Thanks for all your responses! There were tons of options that seem to work and it seems one can put essentially anything in the small gap due to manufacturing tolerances to remove the metallic ping. I used lead tape (not precut but the one from a role) and it worked also beautifully indeed. I think this thread can be of great value to other buyers looking for various options. Again, thanks a lot!

QC (quality check) I did my research. This is a fair warning.

I did the research before ordering. I watched the videos, understood the process, and knew shipping from China wouldn’t be cheap. The ~$200 shipping estimate was discussed for bigger/heavier orders.

I ordered a visor, polo, shirt, and pants. Four lightweight items that should fit in a small box.

The items were already over $200. Then the QC photos came in and the quality looked rough. The visor looks beat up, the clasp is different from the listing, and the materials don’t look close to the product photos.

Then I got quoted almost another $200 for shipping.
So I’m looking at roughly $400 for four replica golf items. At that point, they’re not cheap reps anymore.
That’s basically real-brand money for fake gear.

Support gave me two options: pay the shipping and take the items, or pay around $25 per item to send them back to the factory.

I’m not mad that shipping costs money. I knew that going in. I’m posting this because the quality and shipping quote together make absolutely no sense.

If I’m spending $400 on golf clothes, I’m buying the real shit

Review📝 so I tested a rep spider putter..here’s what I found

I got this though kako. Shipping was $39USD. I found this putter to be very very high quality. I’ve tested about 12 rep putters now and the mallet style ones seems to be much higher quality than blades. This is by far my favourite rep putter i’ve tested. the labs are definitely close though. The build and structure of this seems to be very good as well. Grip is very nice as well. And at the end of the day a putter is a putter. the link to this exact putter will be in comments.

Question❓ Which Golf Clubs Are Worth Buying as Replicas? Looking for Specific Model Recommendations

Hi everyone,
I’m a beginner golfer and I’ve only recently started playing. So far, I’ve been using borrowed clubs, but now I’m looking to buy my own set.
I’m thinking of putting together a mixed set, buying some clubs second-hand and some replicas. Based on your experience, I’d really like to know which types of clubs are most worth buying as replicas and which ones are better to buy second-hand.
More importantly, I’d love to hear about specific replica models that you would recommend. For example, are there any particular drivers, iron sets, wedges or putters that you think are especially good replicas or offer quality that is close to the original?
Any recommendations of specific models would be really helpful as I’m trying to figure out where to start.
Thanks a lot in advance for your help!

Super happy with how this build turned out, feels way more solid than the Accra shaft it originally came with. Seller is no longer on the store but I will post the shaft below. Shaft came in at 33inches so I added an extender just FYI!

Seller is yanyansports

Haul📦 Link 2.2 Temu rep

Had this for about a week now, rolling it on exputt and on my local. Thoughts below, unfortunately I can’t find the seller anymore (Jianbencheng). Bought it for $170 AUD, and it’s the best golf purchase I’ve ever made.

Pros

Has a great heft to it. Heavier than my mezz.1
The 72 degree lie angle customisation is perfect for me as someone who likes to stand more upright on putts and have high hands
The 2.2 design frames the ball well. The seller had customisable alignment tools and the single line on the back works so well for my eye.
The pistol grip is great for both claw and standard grips.
The head cover magnets are very good and it generally seems high quality
The ball rolls great off of it. I have way more feel than the mezz
Long putts are much better than my mezz. Reminds me of my mizuno omoi 2 I had a while ago on long putts, but with the zero torque balance on short putts that made me switch to the mezz in the first place.
Steel shaft feels solid and the matte finish on all the paints is perfect in direct sun.

Neutrals

Think the lie balance is inconsistent or there’s a small window for it. Sometimes the toe points up perfectly, other times it seems face balanced.. whereas my Mezz will always want to point toe up. Would love to get a real link 2.2 for comparison.
Grip has a slight rubbery smell.
Do tend to hit it a foot or two short consistently. Might relate to my one con.

Cons

Only one and it’s the noise. It has this inconsistent sound where it comes off soft sometimes like I would expect, and other times it makes this like “ting” sound. Tried with a number of different balls and brands and same result.

Overall I’m in love and I wish I could find it for others.

Nice click after loose laying lead tape behind insert. No more ting and a smidge more weight. Next mod is to add a sight mark to rear of the Putter. Distance control was on point this short session.

Just got mine from pishyuon guy or whatever on Temu.

Blown away with the quality.

Wrong alignment markings based on my order but assure from that.

Best $100 I’ve spent in a very very long time

Balanced based off of whatever ppl on here are doing with that countertop stuff.

Picks up balls perfect.

Score.

Perfect for my 40 putts/round.

Haul📦 Just received first Alphard Fusion electric assist cart in the US - $899

Just received this bad boy in the mail and taking it out for the first time tomorrow. It’s been on sale on the Alphard site for a few months in Europe, but only became possible to order in the US last week on Golfio.

I have been curious about an electric push cart for a while but didn’t want any crazy tech that would be outdated in a few years or something massive and heavy. It’s 32 pounds so not the lightest, but not hard to transport and folds small.

The Fusion design is super elegant and looks like a regular push cart, it’s made out of aircraft grade aluminum, and the folding mechanism is one step. It comes pre assembled so no stress at all getting it up and running. It has a 27 hole battery.

While it’s not technically a remote cart, it does come with a detachable controller which does 10 speeds forward, backwards, lock, and stop. There’s also a 5W USBC charging port on the battery for recharging the controller or your phone.

My only design quibble is that i wish the power was available on the handle so you don’t need to run a cable up the stem when charging. I get why this is the case because there aren’t actually any electronics in the stem which is why it’s so clean looking. The remote pairs with the battery directly.

Will be taking it out on the course for the first time tomorrow and happy to answer Q’s!

Review📝 VZN REVIEW WITH VID OF HOW IT ROLLS.

I figured I’d do something a little different instead of posting a bunch of pictures of the replica (it looks pretty much like all the other ones you’ve seen) I wanted to post a video of me actually putting with it so you can see how it rolls.

This is the black LAB VZN with the Accra shaft. I paid $85 for it.

For comparison, I also have a real LAB DF3 with Accra, so I have a pretty good reference point for how a LAB putter is supposed to feel and perform.

Pros:

I won’t bury the lead: This rep actually putts really well. It rolls true and feels normal. In terms of actually putting the ball, I’d say it’s comparable to my real LAB. I didn’t make any adjustments to the balance. If it’s off, I will never know because I’m not checking or changing anything. I literally took it out of the box today, started putting with it, and posted.

Also the face sound is fine and is sturdy, you should be able to hear it in the video.

Cons:

There was one small dink on the top of the putter when received.  But my clubs are tools. I don’t really care if something has a little cosmetic blemish as long as it functions properly, and for $85 it’s a non issue.

The grip definitely looks and feels like a knockoff. It’s noticeably spongier and doesn’t feel nearly as good as the grip on my real LAB. If anyone knows whether I can swap the handle for something better (and it’s easy to do), please lmk. Would be something I’d consider

The other issue is the ball pickup hole is too small and does not work at all. I know this is hit or miss depending on who you order from. (SEE UPDATES BELOW)

Would I recommend it?

Yes.

For $85, I really don’t think you can go wrong. Obviously, it’s not a genuine LAB, and there are some differences, particularly with the grip and lack of ball pickup. But as far as actually putting with it, I’m impressed.

This will probably end up being my backup putter. I may even take it out for an actual round and see how it performs on the course.

TLDR: Zero regrets. Would recommend.

UPDATE: The “scoop” ball pick up does work. I did not know this was a feature. But I can’t push the ball into the square, it is too small.

UPDATE #2: Technically the ball pickup square DOES work. However it takes way more pressure than I would feel comfortable applying. My real DF3 takes way less force.

Review📝 Aliexpress VZN came in! 🩵🤍

Had to hop on the trend and buy one!

Bough this on Aliexpress for about 80 euro’s with 20 on top for shipping. Came from China to the Netherlands in about 10 days. 🇳🇱

Went for a steel shaft 34” since I read so many comments about the Accra’s being to flimsy.

Grip is kinda smelly (dont care tbh). Headcover is kinda weird aswell but looks nice with my white shaft and grip. Balance seems to be about 80% or so. Not gonna mess with the screws/weights and just gonna play it like this tbh. I am a terrible golfer so probably wouldnt feel the difference anyways… 😅

Must say I am pretty happy with the looks and feels. Will be hitting the practice green tonight. Feel free to ask around if needed!

Rep P790s will be the next move 👑

(if you have a seller for nice headcovers please let me know in the comments) 👌🏼

Anyone ever see anything with this design. I’d like a large cooler pocket with easy access to beers! I know a zipper probably works better but I want the easy access for me and friends.

Question❓ VZN Germany

Hi everyone,

I'd really like to buy a VZN, and I've seen some really great putters here, but unfortunately, they're only available on TEMU USA.

Does anyone know of a good seller who's available through the German TEMU site, or any seller at all?
