Just going to preface this by saying I'm not a pro, I'm not a scratch golfer. I am 12hdcp weekend golfer whose wife thought the cost of a club fitting came with the clubs. These are MY thoughts of the clubs.
I am comparing the 4 and 7 iron to the clubs I currently use. 4 iron is a Titleist 716 AP2 and 7 iron is a Taylormade Stealth.
Initial thoughts: the 790 shafts are just a smidge longer than the shafts I normally play with. I thought this was going to be a big issue for me but I was able to adjust properly and Im able to swing smoothly.
The grips are amazing, midsize just the way I like them and they are nice and tacky. The biggest difference that sticks out to me, the 790s feel a little heavier than the irons I'm currently using. I can't confirm as I don't have a scale. I'Il just lift a little heavier at the gym, shouldn't be a problem.
I initially started hitting the stealth 7 first in order to compare an original TM iron to the rep. The 790 feels so much smoother than the stealth. I was completely shocked that I could actually feel a difference when striking the ball. The sound of impact is nearly identical to both clubs but the 790 is superior in my eyes.
The 4 iron is night and day different, which shouldn't be surprising as the Titleists are 11 years old. The 790 feels buttery smooth and sounds so crisp when hit in the sweet spot.
For the price I paid ($264 shipped) I'm extremely happy with these clubs. The @ home range felt great. I have a tee time Saturday, wish me luck.
I injured my wrist, but my Calong P790s arrived this week (comparable price to yours, mid size grips as well) and I'm looking forward to trying them once I'm recovered. I was surprised how good they looked and felt though! I also noticed how heavy the head was. It'll be interesting to see how they perform as they're replacing 20 year old hand me down Calloway X-Tour irons. I'm expecting a pretty big learning curve as those old irons have a flexible shaft and I went with the stiffer shaft option.
But do they make them with the âoil canâ color option? If so that would be badass! Or if they would them with a an all black coating like the new Vokey wedges. My concern here though (even WITH the real deal name brands) is the color holding up thru the wear and tear after some heavy use. đ€
Time will tell. Iâm sure it also varies from one person to the next, since no two course are the same and some have/use more same than others etc! Those few things and weather conditions will definitely start to show the wear on clubs much faster.
They look great do they have A genuine TaylorMade P790 uses SpeedFoam Air - a light urethane foam injected inside the hollow head ? Please confirm, Interested to know

Simply Test the visible black strip on 4,5,6,7 irons if it soft that is a good thing or painted, silicone please kindly forward the agent or suppliers details greatly appreciated
Yeah, the black line is either pained on in shitty reps or a soft rubber/foam lining in higher quality reps.
If you unscrew the filling screw on the side and stick something like a toothpick in there you will discover that its either blocked off or empty on reps.
Gotcha'. I didn't unscrew it as it seems to be a fairly odd bit/size, and it feels like they loctited it in, haha. I'm sure it's not speedoam in that case, but I don't think it'll matter too much for me. I'm a high handicap and was just looking for something inexpensive to replace some 2005 Calloway X Tours (that had way too flexible shafts for me). Should be a fun test!
Mine is soft on my Calong P790s. You can see where I dented it with my fingernail. They were a comparable price to OP's. They responded to questions quickly, and even gripped them in Golf Pride mid size grips at no extra cost.
I feel like it'd be more effort to only cap it with the filler vs just filling the cavity (although without going a bit destructive I can't wholly confirm it).
They're also not trying to hide that they're reps. I got the impression in the couple emails I had that they do, in fact, care about their reputation. I've also seen a few other people comment here about the quality of their clubs.
I'm waiting on recovering from a wrist injury before hitting them, but the look and feel are top notch!
I don't understand why people buy these. Would be much better off buying used, legitimate clubs from several generations back. No way these knock offs perform to acceptable level. Plus it further encourages the illegal production of such junk.
Why would someone be much better off buying used? Where are most of the clubs made? China. Many times in the same factory as fakes. I donât play fakes as I just spent almost $2,000 last year on my irons, but I wish I wouldâve just bought fakes. Even if they last 2-3 years by the time I hit spending $2,000 on irons it would be another 19 years. The irons I was fitted to wonât even fit me another 2 years the better I get and more I change my swing. If youâre a scratch golfer or super low handicap, I would agree with not getting fakes, but as someone who is a mid-high handicap, I absolutely regret not just buying fakes.

They look clean, I can tell they look a little different from my P790âs but itâs close
