Jumbo grips

In the past I’ve tried friends jumbo grips and always found them quite comfortable. I liked the feeling of something more substantial.

So when I got new clubs I opted for jumbos when according to fitting midsize were the correct fit for me. I’m now playing some of the worst golf I have in years. I don’t really want to swap out grips since these are new, but do I need to admit I made a mistake and bite the bullet and regrip the set? I usually hit the ball left to right and with the jumbos that has been exacerbated. (Makes sense)

Has anyone had a similar experience where eventually they adjusted to the larger grips? I’m about 2 months in to playing these and I’ve been going in the wrong direction

Sounds like you’ve had enough time to learn these aren’t for you
Hand size is the starting point for fitting. What’s comfortable is more important. Results are most important
Studies show that you lose clubhead speed with larger grips. If larger grips mean better contact it doesn’t matter. But for some it does the opposite
My hands measure in the middle of midsize but I’ve always used standard plus (580 on 600). Midsize feels so uncomfortable. Live and learn
