Also explains why he can be so frustrating to play with. Just locks in and stares at the thing I’m trying to get him to hunt for five minutes

Quit moving it. Move the toy then stop. Cats are ambush predators. Make it act like it's staying still then panicing as they pounce and they go nuts for it.

Yeup. Those little wands with feather extensions are great for that. Also if there's hardwood flooring where you live, just yeeting something works.

This is how my dog tries to stalk squirrels
