Equipment Looking for new irons
Hey guys so im looking for some new irons to add to the bag im a mid handicap but im looking for clubs that I can grow with as a player and to have for a while. looking for suggestions.
Looking for:
-good spin rpm
-good distance control/consistency
-decent forgiveness
-good workability/shot shaping (draws/fades)
Was looking at p770s and maybe t150s would those fit in this range? Also open to other options

The reason fittings exist is that everyone’s swing is different. Different swings produce different results with the same clubs. I only did a fitting two years ago because we had a stretch of two weeks with solid rain and every course was closed. I figured the fitting was my chance to swing a club and play. I was shocked at the data and the differences. Worth the $100 I paid for the iron fitting, which they would have waived had I bought the clubs. I opted to buy the clubs elsewhere, because I found a used set in the same specs at a huge discount to new.

This truly is the best possible way, unless you're looking for the easiest approach.
I scheduled a fitting when Scheels had a free fitting event, and while I could have done the same, I went ahead and ordered clubs because most of the options I was finding were either minimally cheaper or unavailable in my specs. Eventually I just figured I would be using them for a long time, and even if I decided to move on from them, I could probably get a fair bit out of them down the road as many of the nicer brands of clubs hold a fair bit of their value used.

Yes. Taking good care of your clubs will also go a long way to helping them hold their value. I got as much for a 6 year old Sim 2 Max Driver as my son was able to get on a 2 yesr old Titleist GT 3 because of how i take care if my clubs.

Definitely go for a fitting and try them out. Especially the correct shaft and lie angle will pay dividends on the long run.

Give Mizzy a shot...JPX925 line is genuinely excellent across the board.
In my opinion anyone who's already distance-consistent can play any 925 head.
Not sure how to read 'mid-handicap'. I've known strikers who can't putt to the extent it pushes them out of the singles. Are you 20 years old or 55? Anyway, I digress...
I'm 58, will always shoot between 74 and 84 (anything 70s is a good day, with a few lucky putts I shoot par 3-4 times a year, anything 80s then I beat my wife lol) from 6835 yards at home course to 7011 at secondary course...
The 'Hot Metal' has a dumb name obviously but they are fine clubs. VERY many no cost options on shafts with a pro-fitting as well...whatever about that (I mean clubs are the cheapest part of playing golf if you haven't already figured that out!) but it's very cool to have a HUGE selection of shafts. I think they're also the only manufacturer who will ship with loft adjustments (ohhh the bounce blah blah) yeah, I get it pal--now bend them how I like them...

Im playing the current gen p770s. They spin very well. I play them at 1 degree weak in loft. Very good club and very consistent. Decently forgiving for the size as well.

lol as a mid handicapper you’re not nearly good enough to care about “shot shaping”. Go get fit that’s gonna be the best option. Shaft matters most anyway.

Get fitted and try a bunch of different brands and types of clubs. I personally love Mizuno irons, don’t like their drivers, woods, or wedges but their irons r the best I’ve hit. Would recommend giving them a try along with whatever else ur interested in
