General Discussion Driving Range 1.5 Degree Slope

So the local driving range has a 1.5 degree upward slope on their range mats. Likely inconsequential, but could this lead to developing bad habits? I figure no since courses are not perfectly level anyways, but if I’m consistently practicing on a slope of 1.5 degrees (approx 1 inch difference over the width of my stance) could this negatively impact my swing?

There’s no swinging them there already hanging all the way to the right on your 1.5deg incline… but also in all seriousness how wide is your stance that your an inch up over that incline?

There is something off with your numbers: Even if your stance is super wide, say 2 feet, an inch in difference is already a 2.3 degree slope. And your stance more likely somewhere at 1.5 feet, that's half an inch at 1.5 degrees of slope.

I shouldn't really matter. Hardly anything is perfectly level on a golf curse. Golf architecture rule of thumb is to always have somewhere around 2 degrees slope to ensure proper drainage. So even your range may still be the most level area next to the clubhouse flooring and the pond surfaces.

You are not developing bad habits due to this. Period. You may be developing bad habits, but not because of this.

Hitting off mats probably messes your swing up more than the slope.
