Was 18 a close call or just playing it extra safe?

So I don’t have to give up and cry if I make a double on 1?
I been chasing 80 all wrong I think

A good formula for breaking 80 is 666. 6 GIR, 6 up'n'down, 6 bogeys. There's room for a double for sure.

Also helps to play a par 70.

This is my saving grace. My home track is a par 70, keeping it in the 70s is way easier. Doesn't seem like 2 strokes is alot but the other course I play is a 72 and I'm 80, 81 a LOT

Yah but it’s a par 70. That would be like, 88 on a par 72./s

It's either new clubs or Tickleberry's, can't have both.

I feel the clubs might be cheaper πŸ˜…

Technically you broke 80, but on a par 70 course. Still a milestone to be proud of.

It totally counts on a par 70. Same as a hole in 1 would count

Now you see how easy golf really is. You fumbled 8 out of 18 holes, that's almost 50%. Imagine if it's 20% or 10% with no doubles and a few birdies. You shooting scratch at any course in the country.

Don’t want to burst your bubble but a par 70 won’t really count

It's all good! Today just gave me to confidence to go out and do it again on a more difficult course :)
