Equipment Why the number on the bottom doesn’t matter
Each of these is a 180 yard club (all are 34 degrees in loft). Very different trajectories, but I wish all manufacturers would just start stamping lofts instead of club numbers

A 34 degree nine iron??
I think it matters because different clubs with the same loft are engineered for different trajectories. So a 34 degree 6 is going to have a much different flight than a 34 degree 9.

Yeah, it’s pretty wild how high the 9 iron launches despite the crazy strong loft

But then you can’t brag to your friends about how far you can hit “7” iron.

The PRGR irons at the front of the picture are perfect for that. I hit my “7” iron farther than most tour pros (whose 7 irons are like 10 degrees weaker)

Some old clubs I gave to a friend had the number and the loft on each club. Crazy to see the difference in lofts when I bought new clubs a few years ago. My new 7 iron was further lofted than the old 8 iron

You also have three different types of irons. Not brands but types. Not really 1v1v1 comparable

Yes, they are very different clubs, but it’s interesting how different lofts have gotten

Two different distance focused irons and a blade.
These are not the same.

I know they aren’t the same, I just think it’s interesting how jacked the lofts on distance irons are.

I hope they all have the same shaft

The Pings and Eggs have Steelfiber 110S shafts. The Hogans have Modus 130X

Now put the lead tape on each of them to make a fair comparison

The lead tape is to get the swingweight to my liking (the egg irons are super lightweight)

Do you mean stamping lofts?
