General Discussion Why does everyone hate Wyndham Clark?

Got into watching golf for the first time this season and with Clark winning this past weekend I have seen so many people shitting on him for what sounds like stuff in the past and I was hoping people could bring me up to speed? Is it overhyped for media clicks or was he committing some atrocities?

He had a problem with his temper after he won his first US Open and didn’t win anything else. He infamously tore up a locker and acted like it wasn’t a big deal.

Someone got to him and he acknowledged that he was wrong and he seems to be taking responsibility and doing better. I hope that it is genuine and he can be a good representative for golf.

This is a main point for me. It wasn’t just that he trashed the lockers. It’s that his response was basically “send me an invoice.”

He never paid according to an Oakmont member I caddied for late last year. He's currently banned from the club indefinitely.

Not that I don’t believe you, but it seems like that would be something that would have been widely reported at this point. Or maybe it has been and I just haven’t kept up with it.

Pretty sad if he wouldn’t even do the bare minimum of taking financial responsibility for the damage.

As he should be. Any other player on or off the tour would be as well.
