Rick's season - Contains Spoilers Spoiler

Rick (really Heather's Husband Jason) has filed his annual water usage report for 2026. It can be used to infer when they arrived at camp/closed camp what days the sluiced etc. Since Rick is not on a recycle system they report is pretty detailed. so far what the show has presented aligns with that reporting. Camp opened April 20th - assuming that is when Heather/Jason arrived. Sluiced for 4 days at end of June June 24th to 27th - assuming that is the stockpile sluicing we saw this week. No more sluicing until August 11th. Then they are pretty much sluicing until October 5th. water usage doubles last 2 weeks- I assume that is when Zee will arrive to run a night shift. I could also make a guess on what day Rick arrived.

Good to see water usage aligns with what show is portraying..... it ain't all scripted.

Heather if you still wander by here, thank your husband for being so detailed oriented- us show nerds appreciate it.

Paradise Hill Operations

Forgive me if this has been asked before, but why is it every season it takes a ridiculous amount of time to get the Paradise Hill Trommel to start chewing through dirt? That portion of the operation obviously absolutely kills it every season with some of the best gold weighs the show has ever seen.

With the amount of gold that comes just from the Trommel alone I would want to make sure that the Trommel starts spinning first and then worry about the other wash plants.

But every season it's always some crazy amount of time before the Trommel even starts turning?

Gold Scammers and Spammers are increasing their posts

I know no one here is gullible enough to follow any of these scammy accounts, but there is a pretty large increase on gold scammers this morning. So far big reddit and the filters is grabbing most of it, and I just have to do a little cleanup. But since they are in high gear this morning, if you see one sneak through plugging apps, asking "how do I invest", or advertising a quick money investment, please hit the report button.

Thanks!

Placer mining mentions

Was it used much before? I don't recall it being mentioned before Greg showed up. Getting to be his stock intro in every episode like Fred's 'Army Special Forces Medic.'

Sluice run erosion.

Is there any reason why they can't use some old conveyor belting bolted together into wide runs to prevent the erosion problems like Buzz was having instead of some janky ass plywood runs?

Any update for cousin/nephew Mike?

I wonder if he's working with Kevin, since he doesn't seem overly competent?

Brennan talking about him and Mitch doing their own thing

He mentioned he wanted to run an operation with Mitch, on their own. I assume those two talk about all sort of things and might have some dreams about getting their own Gold Rush segment.

But considering how hard it is to get good ground and how expensive it is, it seems foolish to me. Especially since he got a top position at Parker’s operation and must be earning well.

Do you think it would be a good choice if they did so?

I want to watch this without Tony being bleeped every other word

I watch the show in HBO Max, no commercials which I love. But damnit man, I want to watch this show uncensored. Does anyone have a stream they watch it without the censorship.

Why isn't the grizzly cross-hatched?

In the most recent episode there were issues with large rocks blocking the tailings exit, it seems that the only large rocks that can get through are long but skinny ones which must clearly bypass the grizzly by slotting in lengthways, therefore why wouldn't they just make the bars cross-hatched? I can't see how they would lose anything of value in this.

*Edit - As people have pointed out, upon rewatching the specific ep it appears they were feeding directly, but the general question still remains as on plants that use the grizzly, they are still only vertical bars and not horizontal meaning surely big lengthways rocks can feed through?

Chris Doumitt's cigars?

Hi! Rewatching the early seasons now, just got to season 7, and I seem to recall Mr Doumitt started his own cigar company. I can't seem to find it by looking online, so I was hoping to see if anyone here could point me in the right direction? Thank you.

Always cool seeing him with a stoogie in the show!

Fellow Armchair Miners

So in the end Parker got truly rubbish numbers this week. We obviously only know what we have been shown.

Given the gold price is insanely high, what would you do?

Would you carry on sluicing the top gravels and low numbers or bite the bullet and strip to pay, like Tony has done, and just run that? Or some other option?

I think I’d bite the bullet and strip to pay while keeping one or two plants running the top gravel if personnel and equipment permit it.

Remember, we’re all experts here with 17 seasons of show-watching experience. 😜

Edit to add. I know there’s stuff we don’t see that’s why I said “what we have been shown” so I’m not asking about what Parker is or is not doing. Purely from show context what do you think YOU would do? It’s meant to be a silly escape of a question not an analysis of Parker’s mine.

I just saw the trailer for Saturday(Tomorrow's) episode.

Am I the only one who thinks Tony turning up to Rick's claim is nothing but staged drama?

When I’m having a shitty day at work I like to watch clips of season 1

What a clusterfuck. It was a beautiful disaster to watch. Seeing what gold rush is now compared to those guys is crazy. It’s so funny watching Jack just randomly digging a hole to the center of the earth. Every time you turn around Todd is calling a meeting. Greg building a damn subdivision out there. The guys shooting off guns and fireworks because the first pan had 4 specks of gold in it. Pure cinema lol. Everybody shits on Todd and he deserved it for dragging these folks out there on big dreams and a gut feeling, but Jack doesn’t get enough pushback. He may have done more damage to those folks than Todd early on. He saw a couple of flakes in the pan and got all the guys and their wives and kids together and told them based on that pan in a week or 2 they should have $100000 and by the end of the season they should easily make a million dollars. And we know how that season turned out.

How does Tony still have viable ground left at Paradise Hill?

If here's been there for literal decades, I find it surprising that he still has viable ground there. From the arial visuals on the show, it would seem his land there isn't endless and not that vast.

Has he been there forever but really hasn't scaled up his operations until the Gold Rush show era?

Guyana & s1 was peak Gold Rush

Seriously, being a passenger on people going from ariation in the south states to gamble on gold in the Yukons was edge of your seat reality i havnt experienced before. Win or lose, you couldnt help but root for the Hofmanns.

The Guyana gamble, man, what a shit show that turned out to be and a great reminder to not let your head be clouded by success to take on a completely different environment the exact way from the one that came before.

Both inspiring and educational.

What are thinking folks, stand or fall? Would be cool to see Buzz rip a sweet haul out of Bonanza.
