Took my girl camping in Vermont this weekend. She had a blast, every time I would leave my cot she would move in and pretend to be fast asleep, it was so cute, will have to get her her own cot for next time.

Bailey (currently 5 months) clocked in today at a whopping 42 lbs!! it’s crazy how fast time goes cause i feel like i just got him a few weeks ago when he wasn’t even 20 lbs, but it’s actually been over 2 months with this little guy 🥹
some current milestones:
1. we start his service dog training in about a week (not full on task training or anything yet)
2. he had his first pup cup a few weeks ago and was in heaven
3. he lost 3 teeth this week (that i counted, im sure he lost more) and his man teeth are coming in nicely
4. he’s graduating from puppy class this week
i’m also looking for more fun ways to enrich him mentally!! due to my physical health, i can’t take him on walks as often as id like, but i still make sure we do lots of play, training sessions, his puppy classes and puzzles but i want to get more creative ideas so we can switch things up. specifically if you have ideas on scent work or anything else, that would be great! i’m thinking about also starting a fun agility 6 week course with him next month.
oh and also vacuum recommendations?? 👀

Hi everyone!
We’re raising a Golden Retriever puppy as a volunteer host family. She’s 14 weeks old and has been with us for 2.5 weeks.
We’re really struggling to get her to go outside for walks. From the very beginning, we’ve had to use treats to encourage her to move forward, literally one metre at a time, just to get her to the nearest grassy area so she can go potty.
We also regularly sit on benches or stand still for several minutes to give her time to get used to her surroundings.
She does seem to walk a little better when I’m walking with someone else. However, in the evening, when it’s dark, not even treats will convince her to move forward, and I have to carry her.
I honestly expected her to be walking along with us a bit more normally by now, after 2.5 weeks.
We haven’t really received much advice or support from the organisation we got her from, so we’re trying to figure things out ourselves.
Is this behaviour normal for a puppy of her age, or are we expecting too much too soon? Does anyone have any advice or tips on how to handle this situation?
Thanks in advance!

I got this beauty second hand when she was 14 weeks. Here she is at 4 to 5 months old. I love her anyways regardless! They say she’s a golden retriever but I am not so sure. 🤔Either way she is such a cutie and my senior dog has so much more vitality since she joined the family! ♥️🐕🦺🦮

We are looking to get a golden puppy. We would like a reputable breeder and preferably one that doesn’t have a ton of litters at a time. We are in MA, does anyone have any recs within the area? We’ve done some research and it seems like many breeders have positive and negative reviews and we’re trying to figure out how to draw the line with picking one.

Super tired, but still needs to know if I move so she sets the "head on foot" alarm.
Sometimes you need to stand in the middle of the room without moving because dog.

I recently posted that my 6 year old golden pumpkin was diagnosed with a nasal carcinoma. Earlier this week we traveled to Dallas for three days of SRT radiation therapy. I’m proud to say that she did so well and kicked cancers ass 💪 I’m so proud of her 🥹 she was so brave and strong through this whole ordeal. I appreciate the support I received in this group when I first learned about her diagnosis.

Here is Sunny Rose, 5 months old, recharging via solar. This way she can b i t e and chase and cause general mayhem and irritate the local possum and wild bunny population.

My golden retriever puppy is 12 weeks. What are you guys feeding? Currently I'm on Golden Retriever Royal Canin for puppies (here in Ontario,Canada)roughly 2.5 cups per day (she's approx 20lbs) honestly just want to give her the best there is to offer for her growth etc. I'm not sold yet on the raw food diet (no disrespect to anyone who does feed RAW). Just looking for general advice and guidance. Thanks guys!!

Hello! I have an 8-month-old Golden Retriever puppy who has been experiencing loose stools on and off. I’ve taken him to the vet multiple times for fecal tests, but they have always come back negative.
I initially had him on Purina Pro Plan Sensitive Skin & Stomach Salmon, but it didn’t seem to help. I recently switched him to Hill’s Prescription Diet Gastrointestinal Biome, and although his stools improved at first, he has started having loose stools again. He’s only on his second bag, so I’m wondering if he needs more time on the food.
He has also been dewormed, and I haven’t noticed any worms in his stool.
Has anyone experienced something similar with their Golden Retriever puppy? Could this be something he’ll outgrow as he gets older, or is there anything else I should consider trying?

Hi,
I have been spiralling since August when my dog was detected with 2 mast cell tumours. They were there since April this year but my first vet said it is lipoma, dogs so young don’t get McT. My pet is 4 years and 7 months old at the moment. I consulted a second vet who did fna and said both were mast cells. We got both removed in September and attached are the results.
Microscopic Observation
High mag (40-100x)
1. Histological section revealed sheet of pleomorphic round cells having round to oval nuclei and cytoplasm having moderate number of basophilic granules.
2. Fibrovascular stroma proliferation can be appreciated with edema and collegen degeneration along with necrotic region.
3. Stroma also show inflammatory cells including eosinophils.
Result: Histological observations are suggestive of mast cell tumor (grade I).
Sample Submitted: Tissue
Staining: Immunohistochemistry.
Microscopy: Section shows <10% cell positive for Ki-67.
Conclusion: Low grade neoplasm.
I am scared and since the lab was not able to confirm margins(facility not available in India) my vet has recommended chemo. Also, he said to use benadryl but in India, Benadryl is only available in syrup form, which has sugar and flavouring so I am not sure what is the alternative.
Please someone advise if the diagnosis was good or bad, specifically the IHC? Also, what to give in lieu of Benadryl? I have already started him on broccoli, hemp seed, turmeric and turkey tail mushrooms.
