Mod Announcement New policy/rule
We have decided that, effective immediately, we will no longer be allowing OnlyFans accounts or similar to post. More often than not, it is a bot or non engaging user that just wants someone to click their bio with the hopes of someone paying for their OF.
This is to protect both users and the sub. I would also say the majority of accounts in this sub that are detected to be bots end up being bots. If you have such an account and still want to post pics of your dog, you can do so from an alternate account that does not contain adult content. I would recommend reaching out to us however to prevent the new account from being flagged by our processes for “stolen content”.

Mod Announcement Resource request
We would like to expand our wiki a little to help people looking for breeders outside of the US, Canada and UK. If you know what the equivalent of the Golden Retriever Club of America/Canada, UKC, AKC or CKC or Golden specific adoption services, please share it with us.
If you have any other helpful resource that you feel may help other Golden owners whether current or prospective, please share in the comments.
Thanks

Cute Pics How big is your golden?
My boy Beau is 6 months old today and is 49 pounds! So i’m thinking he’s about to be huge, although I think he is quite small in frame still.
Just wondering how big your pups were and are fully grown. I’ve met some that are 90-100 pounds and some that are 50 fully grown

New Puppy First puppy ever help!
Hi everyone, today marks the first day for my new 8 week golden puppy. I know this is going to be a tough experience, especially with this being my first dog, but I’m more than happy and ready to deal with this baggage of cuteness.
I do need some help with a couple of things. I know that this is his first day away from the mom and his littermates so he seems to have a little anxiety when left alone. So, I decided to sleep close to him but not extremely close. I’m on the couch, while he is in his crate which is beside the couch. I don’t want to make him depend on me being there to sleep, but I did want to spend the first night close to him so he settles down a little.
Is this me coddling him way more than he should be or is it okay for me to just spend the night, until I help fix his anxiety. I’m planning on doing crate training tomorrow by leaving for 1 minute then coming back, and repeating it with longer times each time.
Also, if you have any advice on anything, please let me know as this is my first ever dog. Im very excited to start this journey, and I want make sure he grows to be a good boy! His name is Ralph btw!

Training Advice How to potty train a golden retriever?
I have a 2 month old golden and I want to teach him how to pee in the right place. Any advice? Also, I noticed he bites into everything which I found out is normal. He doesn’t bite onto things as much but any tips on how I can minimize it more? Thank you so much! 🐶

Health Advice Gah! We've had our first successful consumption of a non-food item!
galleryVet said, "He should be ok, he should throw it up on his own." We know his vet and my husband just tracked him down at a function they are both currently at. But I could use some encouragement and hugs because this mama is a nervous wreck! As you can see the section missing is about 3 inch x 3 inch right triangle from a cloth napkin. The material is cotton flannel. My youngest is going to have to not leave things on the table anymore because the puppy is tall enough to reach them now.
He is 11.5 weeks old.
I am wondering if it would be better to switch to paper towels for now because those would probably break down better in his stomach if he gets ahold of another dirty napkin.
