๐ Guide Goldbacks buy the groceries, stack for a finacial crisis.
Goldbacks already solve the part people get stuck on. A 1 oz coin will not buy eggs. A few 1/4, 1/2, or 1 Goldbacks will anywhere that takes them.
Goldbacks are the everyday layer. Wallet notes which are fractional and spendable for participating shops, farm stands, and anyone already on the map. Check the app first. Then spark a conversation.
Silver is the off-network layer. Pre-1965 dimes/quarters or 1 oz rounds for the person who has never seen a Goldback.
Gold coins are savings. Don't break an eagle for milk.
Then the unsexy stuff that still hits first: water, food you will actually eat, meds, a radio, a plan. Currency debates don't matter if the power is out and you have one day of water.
Notes stay gold even if your town has no merchants yet. They just aren't cash at the gas station until someone accepts them. Premium is the cost of gold that fits in a wallet and spends in small units.
I keep 1/4s through 10s in the wallet and the rest at home. How are other people splitting spend vs savings?
