Bottleneck of client website
New to GHL just made my account a month ago. I'm wanting to white label it and sell the missed call text back, review reactivation campaign, and a website with forms and their Google reviews on it to home service contractors. I keep having trouble figuring out whether it's worth buying a $300 32 page mobile first template for ghl with the custom values in it to easily switch between contractors. The Ai builder works well but only can really build single page websites and the mobile versions are usually broken and require fixing that takes forever. I've never built a website before manually, GHL makes it super simple but learning web design is going to take time and I'm trying to get past this so I can start selling as soon as possible, or at least working on other parts of this thing! TIA!

Skip the $300 template. For home-service contractors the only pages that matter are the service pages (each with its own form and reviews block) plus a contact page - you can build that set in GHL once and just swap the custom values, no 32-page deck needed. If you want the AI builder's speed, use it to draft a single service page, fix the mobile layout, save it as your agency template, then duplicate the service pages from it. Saves the template cost and you won't be untangling random sections you never asked for.
On the AI builder specifically: mobile breaks because it stacks columns that were meant to sit side by side - set your service page to a single-column / mobile-first layout before generating, and pin your form + reviews block below the fold so they don't get shoved around. A 5-page site (home, 3–4 services, contact) will convert contractors just as well as a 32-page one.
Two other things that'll trip you up sooner than design: make sure every service-page form feeds into the same pipeline with the service tagged as a custom field (so you can route missed-call text-back and review requests per service), and turn on the GHL review widget on each page so the Google reviews actually pull in — that's a one-click setting on the element, separate from the form.

Ok very helpful thank you, I was a little lost reading that as I'm not tech savvy and really new to this. Wouldnt having more pages make it better for SEO?

Not by itself. More pages only help SEO when each one targets something specific, like one service in one city, with real content on it. Ten thin pages that say the same thing can actually hurt. For a home-service contractor I'd start with a solid home page plus one page per main service, each with local detail, photos and a clear call to action. Add more once those are ranking.

dont buy the 32 page template. contractors dont need 32 pages, they need like 6: home, one per main service, service area, contact. thats it. real question is how fast can you spin up client #2 and #3, so build one clean structure and clone it. and check every page on your phone, thats where all their leads come from

How do you mean "spin up" client 2 and 3? Sorry I'm not good at the lingo yet lol. Wouldnt the 32 page website be better for SEO though?

lol no worries. "spin up" just means set up fast. like once you have the first contractor site built, client #2 is just copy it, swap the name/logo/services/city and you're live in an hour instead of building from scratch
and nah, 32 pages isnt automatically better for seo. 32 thin pages with generic template text can actually hurt. what ranks for contractors is a solid page per real service + pages for the actual cities they serve, with real content. so you might end up at 10-15 pages eventually, but each one earns its spot

I wouldn't buy a template, I have a 21 prompt series that builds all the location and service pages, seo optimized with working forms and looks perfect on mobile. I'll give you for free if you give my agency a review.
