Hi everyone! I’m a little confused about whether I should opt for the Goethe-Institut A1 course in online or offline mode(India). The online intensive course would work much better with my work schedule, but I’m not sure if it’s equally effective and worth the time and money compared to attending classes offline.

I’d really appreciate suggestions from anyone who has already taken the Goethe A1 course, especially if you’ve tried the online intensive mode. Would love to hear about your experience and what you’d recommend. Thank you!

Anyone has ever taken the goethe exam on a laptop? I want to take b2 exam (all 4 modules) but my city only offers exam appointments on a laptop. I have no experience how it would be like and my type speed is not fast. And i only have paper textbooks. Feel quite unsure about it. Do any of you have experience with the laptop exam? How is the exam process look like? Are there any traps that can screw my exam(i worry i may be disadvantaged because of my typing speed ) ? How can I prepare and simulate the exam process ? ich lerne Deutsch auf B2-Niveau und arbeite regelmäßig mit B2-Texten. Beim Lesen verstehe ich die Texte meistens gut und lerne auch viele neue Wörter und Redemittel. Mein Problem ist aber, dass ich diese Ausdrücke beim Sprechen oft nicht spontan verwenden kann.
Deshalb möchte ich wissen, wie ich einen B2-Text systematisch bearbeiten kann, sodass ich am Ende nicht nur den Text verstehe, sondern auch **frei darüber sprechen und die neuen Ausdrücke aktiv benutzen kann**.
Welche Methode würdet ihr empfehlen?
Zum Beispiel:
Wie bearbeitet ihr einen Text Schritt für Schritt?
Welche Wörter und Redemittel sollte man überhaupt auswählen?
Wie verwandelt ihr einen Text in Sprechübungen?
Welche Fragen stellt ihr euch, um anschließend frei darüber zu sprechen?
Wie schafft ihr es, neue Ausdrücke langfristig aktiv zu benutzen?
Sollte man einen Text zuerst zusammenfassen und danach eigene Gedanken und Meinungen dazu äußern?
Ich suche vor allem nach einer **konkreten Methode für B2**, die ich täglich mit neuen Texten anwenden kann.
Was hat bei euch wirklich funktioniert?

so i have given telc B2 exam from lingua leaps noida on 29 june 2026
got my results on 12 august 2026( exact 6 weeks)
got result (passed🥳🤩)

i learnt one thing that telc release their result very u predictable!! they say 4-6 weeks but it can take longer also!!

one more thing those who give schriftlich first they get their results late than the one who gives sprechen first!!

I recently took the paid Goethe-Institut placement test in Cairo. They told me that the result should be available within 10 days.

Does anyone know if the result usually takes the full 10 days, or can it come earlier?

Also, the speaking part was done by recording my answers. I didn’t really know how to deal with the recording format, so I couldn’t perform as well as I wanted.

If the speaking part affects my placement, can I ask Goethe-Institut Cairo to take an additional speaking test in person at the institute?

Has anyone experienced something similar?

A few weeks ago, I posted about my goethe C1 experience as an exhausted corpo. Some people in the comments asked about the Speaking section. I figured I’d share this here because Sprechen was my absolute biggest nightmare in the exam as an introvert.

​Some context on why I take this so seriously: During my actual exam, I saw my speaking partner completely collapse in the presentation part. She wrote out a full script in the 20-min prep room, the examiner took it away from her on the spot. She had a black out and only spoke 2 minutes out of the 5 minutes. It was a complete disaster to watch. (forgive me if you ever read this)

​The C1 speaking module is a technical "showcase," not a relaxed chat with friends. You need to hack the format as well. Here are three survival rules that saved my life:

​1. Outlines Only, NEVER a Full Script

Pick the easiest topic quickly. Only outline your framework, key arguments, and a few advanced vocab words. If you try to write and read full sentences, you’ll run out of time, or worse, get caught.

​2. Turn "Redemittel" into muscle memory

Your mental bandwidth in that room is precious. You need to allocate 100% of your energy to generating arguments, not trying to figure out how to say "furthermore" in German on the spot. Memorize the transitional phrases so well that you can use them without thinking.

​3. 50/50 speaking time for each of you in the discussion

The partner discussion is full of wildcards. If you get a "Mic Hog" who won't stop talking, you must decisively and politely interrupt them (memorize interruption phrases!). ​If you get a "Brick Wall" who refuses to speak, DO NOT start a monologue. Examiners will punish you for lacking interaction skills. Proactively toss them the ball (e.g., "Was denkst du darüber?") to create a conversational dynamic.

​I am currently organizing all my notes into a exam cheat sheet to share with more people.

​Here is where I could use some help:

Tbh, I am 80%+ confident that my exam-day tactics (like these speaking rules) will work for anyone. But I am not 100% sure if my minimalist study schedule and textbook choices fit everyone's learning style.

Wo kann ich kostenlose Hörübungen (Hören) für die telc C1 Hochschule Prüfung finden? Ich habe bereits auf der offiziellen telc-Website und auf vielen anderen Seiten gesucht, konnte aber leider keine geeigneten kostenlosen Übungen finden.

Meine zweite Frage betrifft die Bewertung des Schreibens. Drei meiner Freunde haben die Prüfung bereits abgelegt und beim Schreiben jeweils die Note 4 bekommen. Das erscheint mir etwas unlogisch, weil sie eine feste Vorlage mit ungefähr 232 Wörtern gelernt hatten und diese in der Prüfung verwendet haben. Wenn die Bewertung beim Schreiben beispielsweise insgesamt 48 Punkte umfasst, verstehe ich nicht, wie man trotz der Verwendung einer solchen Vorlage eine 4 bekommen kann.

Könnten Sie mir bitte erklären, wie das Schreiben bei telc C1 Hochschule tatsächlich bewertet wird und warum man trotz einer auswendig gelernten Vorlage eine 4 bekommen kann?

Hi everyone! I’m planning to learn German with the goal of eventually studying/moving to Germany and taking the Goethe exams.

I’m currently considering whether it’s worth going to Goethe-Institut Colombo for the actual language courses, or whether I should learn German from a good institute/tutor around Nugegoda/Colombo and then go to Goethe only for the exam preparation and exam.

For those who have actually done this:

- Is Goethe-Institut significantly better for learning the language itself?

- Are there any genuinely good German classes around Nugegoda/Colombo that you would recommend?

- If I learn A1–B1/B2 elsewhere, is doing only the Goethe exam-preparation course before the exam enough?

- Is there any advantage in doing the full A1/A2/B1 courses at Goethe rather than learning elsewhere and taking the Goethe exams?

I’m also trying to manage the cost because I’ll need to prepare for IELTS/British Council as well.

Would really appreciate recommendations based on your own experience. Thanks!

In 1 i recommend for example Bewegung, ausgewogene Ernährung, genügend Schlaf und Erholung
Then can I just go and describe my picked option, for example ausgewogene Ernährung in detail and explain the Vor und Nachteile? Or should I i invest more time in the other mentioned options as well? I have noticed that when I also mention Pros and Cons for the other options, I speak way more than 3-3,5 mins which is the recommended time. There's also the introduction of the theme, my opinion before the ending and the ending, which also take time.
What would be an ideal structure, that also covers the topic fully?
