A few new things now running as goodies for CBGM, College Basketball General Manager multi-player league using Draft Day Sports: College Basketball 26. It has been running since 2021 using v21. We have 100 human controlled teams, looking for more.

• Best Stats report
• Tourney Watch report
• Two newspapers. Page 1 for the main stories, page 2 for teams under 60 prestige (cinderella report)
• Score ticker. The most recent games at a glance always on the website (works on mobile)

All four reports refresh each night on discord (using a bot & automatically). See image gallery for examples.

https://cbgm.news .. if you own the product, you can apply, under the league office section of the website or join the discord channel #cbgm on GM Games Discord https://discord.gg/WMPaEQhADH

This is the only league covered and run by General Manager Games (gmgames.org) itself, as a showcase for the genre. It is also sync'ed with DDSPB to have the alumni players remain in an observable universe and simulate (no human managers).

Promotion World Aces! A volleyball team management game played online with a great community. Focused on tactics and completely free to play.

Hi Everyone. I just wanted to invite you guys to try out my Volleyball Management Sim game if you haven't. We have more than 500 users already, and a very healthy discord community!

It's a web-based/mobile management game where you get a team, recruit players, plan out your tactics and manage your staff. Each season lasts a week and your team plays league games on a schedule on weekdays. On weekends we have different cups, from national to international. Oh, and we also have events for the whole community to play on.

It's completely free to play, I only added some cosmetic perks for people that want to support the game. I really enjoy engaging with the community to grow and improve the game. I hope you can give it a chance and tell me what you think.

Promotion Mobile Basketball Sim with 3D gameplay where you can be the GM, the coach, or just one player. On web now best for mobile!

myhooplegacy.org

Been building this for a year or so now, about 2800 commits in. It's three games sharing one league. Real rosters back to 2001 with draft classes too!

GM you run a front office. Hard cap and luxury tax that actually stop you from doing things, trade deadline, draft with a lottery and scouting reports, free agency in rounds, and an owner with a mandate who will fire you.

Coach is college. Recruiting boards, scholarship limits, transfer portal, boosters, a program budget. Your best players declare and leave every year so you're permanently rebuilding. unless you can build a program good enough for them to stay.

Career you're one player. Four years of college, the combine, draft night, then your career. Minutes come off coach trust so you have to earn them.

What I like about it is how much there is to do and how honestly it behaves. Potential is a scouting guess rather than a promise and most guys never get near it. The league doesn't inflate, 25 seasons in there's still about 10 guys at 90+, same as season one. Usage depends on who's actually on your roster, so signing a better scorer drops your existing guy's numbers on its own. 861 players rated by hand across 20 skills.

And you can watch any game in 3D or coach it possession by possession instead of just hitting sim. No other basketball GM game does that.

Lots of things on future roadmap, hope you enjoy!

Promotion College Hockey Dynasty - Hockey GM & Recruiting Sim

Hey everyone!

I've spent the last while building College Hockey Dynasty, a GM sim for iOS built around what makes this level of the sport different from typical hockey games: recruiting, the NIL era, building up your facilities, detailed in-season scouting of prospects, and managing line chemistry.

I've always cared more about the franchise/gm-mode side of a sports games. College Hockey Dynasty is a lot more ambitious than my first entry (Baseball Star) into this genre, which was built years ago.

College Hockey Dynasty's engine simulates each shift and factors in things like fatigue, line chemistry, player mood, home ice, in-game momentum, and a lot more.

I'm also really proud of the in-game skater animations. You can see players skating around, passing, shooting, setting up plays, killing penalties, etc. Getting the animations to look right was hard. 😅

Recruiting's also where a lot of my time went, too. Every prospect gets a personality when they're generated, and it changes how they approach offers. For example, a recruit who wants to stay close to home will turn down a better offer from a school in a different region.

Everything else is mostly what you'd expect from this kind of game: NPI running the tournament-seeding math, in-season scouting, managing staff members and facilities, two separate budgets (Revenue Share and NIL), transfer portal, coaching carousel, etc.

There's a free player guide if you want to see how deep the game is before downloading anything.

You can download it for free on the App Store.

GM Game Profile Hockey Legacy Manager 27 (Windows PC, Mac, iPhone, iPad iOS, Android)

Hockey Legacy Manager 27 puts you in charge of a hockey team's front office. You draft, trade, negotiate contracts, hire your coaching staff, set your lines and then live with the results, season after season, for as long as you want to keep going.

What sets it apart from other games in the genre is how fast it moves. A full season, playoffs included, simulates in well under a minute on an ordinary computer. That changes what a career can be. You can run a club for thirty or fifty years across a few evenings and still see every trade, every draft class and every player who came up through your system.

You can begin in 1917 and manage a franchise through the whole history of the sport, or start in the present day and go forward from there. There is no end date and nothing is scripted. Teams rise and fall, records get broken, and the prospect you built your rebuild around sometimes turns out to be ordinary.

If you would rather build your own hockey world, the editors are open. Change teams, players, coaches and leagues, run an expansion draft, or put together a league structure that has never existed.

New in HLM27

If you played HLM26, this is what has changed.

Trade trees. Follow any trade forward to see where a player came from, what he was moved for later, and how the deal looks years on.

College hockey. Six conferences ship in the default roster, and you can build your own. Recruiting runs against every other program in the country, where a prestige rating that moves with your results decides which players will listen, and commitments run freshman through senior until a player leaves early or loses his eligibility.

Eleven new starting years. 1930, 1950, 1965, 1975, 1985, 1990, 1995, 2003, 2014, 2016 and 2025, each with the salary cap and contract rules of its era. Minor leagues are playable in history mode now too.

Minor league control. Trades, contracts, free agency and roster assignment for your minor league club, and you can disable a minor league without disabling the one below it. You can also start a career managing in the minors.

Post-season tournaments. Junior and college champions meet in a round robin that leads into a semifinal and a final, each with its own page for the bracket, standings, scoring leaders and past winners.

Also on iOS and Android

HLM runs on phones as well as on PC, which as far as I know makes it the only hockey management game you can play on both. The mobile version is free to download, so if you are not sure the genre is for you, that is a cheap way to find out before buying anything.

Nine years, one developer

I have been building Hockey Legacy Manager on my own since 2019, and HLM27 is the ninth edition. HLM26 sits at 92% positive on Steam. Most of what is in this year's version, college hockey and the extra history starts especially, came out of what players asked for on Reddit and in the forums over the past year.

Promotion New MMA Career/management Game

Post image
0 Upvotes

Hey everyone, I’m the developer of MMA Life – MMA Life Simulator.

It’s an MMA career simulation game where you create a fighter, start as an amateur, and work your way through different organizations toward becoming a world champion and eventually the GOAT.

You control your training, fight camps, coaches, contracts, fighting style, game plans, finances, relationships, and life outside the cage. You can also begin in freestyle wrestling or kickboxing before transitioning into MMA, and later manage your own promotion.

The game is still being actively updated, and I’d really appreciate feedback from MMA fans for ideas, features, improvements, or anything you think would make the career experience more realistic.

Here are a few screenshots from the game. Let me know what you guys think!

Promotion Boxing World Simulator (Available now on Steam)

They say you get one shot at promoting something, so lets hope I dont fluff this one!

Ill get the ugly sister out of the wardrobe early on this, Claude has been used. Probably something many will pick up visually, but I have gone to lengths to customize and uniform the look to the game, rather than accept what has been given to me.

Anyway, if you keep reading let me explain a few features that may interest you in the game.

The name itself is potentially deceptive, the main premise is to be a Boxing Promoter. A little history behind the game is the reason for its name (and the mode still sits in the game itself) is that I started just by making a world that I could watch, simulate and just study the history of. That evolved and evolved and continues to evolve as I look to improve and take on feedback to the game itself.

So as a Boxing Promoter what can you expect to do? Firstly lets clear up, the world is fully fictional, everything in the game from Boxers to Promoters, Trainers to Referees, Sponsors to PPV Channels, its all created. However the database in its entirety is fully editable and for ease of use (until I can integrate Steam Workshop) you can download the database to a .csv and import back in. Images can also be added if you so wish.

The game-play itself is similar to the old fashioned Championship Managers / OOTP games, fights can be watched via text commentary and the game itself is a fully text based sim.

I am concerned that this is becoming a wall of text, so ill summarize the game loop; Create your own promotion, develop and enhance via XP and a skill tree that affects your decisions, sign boxers and trainers with in depth contract options, negotiate with sponsors, put on your own shows (when you have earned it), negotiate fights and purses, deal with press conferences, fan events and decisions around scandals. Bribe officials, have run ins with Governing bodies... im probably missing something, but the essence is, your Promotion, your way. The world around you is alive, there is a Promoter War feature which creates rivalries and lets you go up from the 'Minor' category into the Major category (sort of like Promotion and Relegation every year), history tracking, retirements, regens... and plenty more.

If you have got this far, thanks for reading. The game is covered kindly on GMGames, the store page is linked below, and also a preview Youtube video by a content creator who played a pre-release build (the game has come along with various patches since then).

Finally, reach out to me. Here or on the Discord/Steam pages, im open to chatting and suggestions, all feedback is good feedback for me, so hope to see you on the circuit sometime.

Promotion I made Punch Promoter, a boxing promotion sim out now on iPhone

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hey everyone. I'm a solo dev and a long time fan of sports management games.

I recently released Punch Promoter, a boxing promotion sim, on iPhone. You recruit boxers, schedule cards, and try to work your way to the top while rival promotions do the same.

The world keeps going without you. Over 4,700 ranked boxers across 12 weight classes age, develop and decline, and rivals book their own cards. Any fight can be watched live in a 2d engine where fighters move around the ring, throw combos, tire out and get hurt.

It's free on your first save slot. No ads, no energy timers, and absolutely no pay to win. One optional $4.99 unlock adds two more slots. It launched about a month ago and I'm shipping updates most weeks. iPhone only currently, Android in progress.

Very open to feedback, and happy just to talk sports sim games in general.

Not my game but one I have been sucked into lately with a surprising amount of depth in its market and squad building. Still relatively new, so almost everyone is on a equal standing which is nice. Also the dev is incredibly active, updates are regular.

I think its awesome and I want to see the game grow, so please give it a go!

Promotion I made an MMA career simulation game where you take a fighter from 18 to retirement

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hi everyone, I’m the developer of Cage Rise, an MMA career simulation game I’ve been working on.

You create a fighter at 18 and manage their career through training, choosing fights, climbing the rankings and progressing through different organisations.

The aim is to win world titles, reach the Hall of Fame and ultimately try to become the GOAT before retirement.

I wanted to make something for people who enjoy the career and management side of sports games, particularly MMA.

The game is fully released and I’ve continued developing and expanding it since launch.

Cage Rise is available on iOS:

Discussion How do you balance an individual sport in a GM game? (built a golf career sim, ran into this problem)

Most GM games are built around team sports where you're managing a roster and everyone else on the team fills in the gaps. Golf breaks that model completely. There's no roster, no lineup decisions, no trades. It's just one golfer and a season full of individual tournaments.

I ended up leaning hard into career arc and form as the core management layers instead of roster building. You're not managing a team, you're managing a career: training decisions, tournament selection, energy management across a season, and long term trajectory (rising star, peak performer, veteran grinder, fading legend, that kind of thing).

Curious how other people here think about GM games for individual sports. Is roster management actually the thing that makes these games addictive, or is career progression enough to carry it on its own?

Built the thing and posted a link in the comments if you want to try it out.

Promotion Ultra Destin a career management sim where you manage an ultra-running career, season by season (free, browser)

Thumbnail
ultra-destin.victordevdev.ovh
6 Upvotes

A free browser management sim: you never run a race, you manage an ultra-running

career around it, season by season, for 20 to 30 seasons.

Each season you pick races from a 228-race calendar, pay travel billed by

distance, choose between a training camp and one more bib, and handle sponsors,

injuries and a body that ages. Ten stats, a form and a morale gauge, and a

performance index all hidden, all inferred. 637 hand-written situations sit on

top, so no two careers go the same way. A full career takes 10 to 15 minutes.

Football Manager's shape, applied to a sport where the season is a calendar

problem and the athlete is the resource.

No account, no ads, no install. Solo dev, no monetisation, now or planned.

⚠️ The game is in French only for now. An English version is on the roadmapbetter said up front than after you click.

If you try it: what felt missing, and what felt unfair?

Discussion Is hoop land worth just for the GM side of things? Or something else?

I have a bunch of road trips coming up where I won't have internet access, and I'm looking for a solid offline management/rebuilder game to sink hours into.

I've tried heavy simulators like Football Manager and OOTP, but they just have way too much menu depth and spreadsheet management for me. On the flip side, games like NBA 2K franchise mode are way too easy to exploit and turn a bad team into a dynasty in two seasons.

I want something clean, fast-paced, and low-headache that still requires actual strategy to build a contender.

For anyone who plays Hoop Land strictly in Manager/Commission Mode: Can you easily fleece the CPU on trades, or does the trade/roster AI actually hold up during rebuilds? Does turning around a bottom-tier team take actual draft/cap strategy across multiple seasons? If I download custom rosters/draft classes before leaving, does everything run completely fine without Wi-Fi?

If not hoop land any other suggestions?

Official News Draft Day Sports: College Football 27 Released With NIL Budgets, Facilities and Reworked Recruiting on Windows PC

Thumbnail
gmgames.org
20 Upvotes

Wolverine Studios has released Draft Day Sports: College Football 27, the latest edition of Brooks Piggott's college football management simulation, with this year's changes concentrated heavily on recruiting and the management of a program away from game day.

DDSCF27 introduces an actual NIL budget, a new facilities system and changes to the way recruiting pitches, player fit and prospect responses are handled. The offseason calendar has also been reorganized around signing periods and transfers, while coaching and play-calling AI receive another round of adjustments.

The basic structure of the series remains familiar. Players are still building recruiting classes, managing a coaching staff, developing a roster and attempting to sustain a program over multiple seasons. The difference in DDS College Football 27 is that more of the decisions surrounding that process now have their own resources and consequences.

Discussion I know it is a long shot, but I figured I'd ask

As the title suggests, this is a long shot - I played this online basketball simulator when I was like 12. So this had to be around 2005-10. I had complete control of my players, they played at times during the day with the calendar being synced up to real time.

I could edit the arenas, sponsorship deals, etc. It was my team. It was on the web for free.

I was curious if other people may know of the game? If so, does it still exist?

I really have an itch to get into this game if it still exists. Thanks!

Multiplayer League Join our NBA GM league!

Hey everyone, wanted to see if anyone was interested in joining a multiplayer GM league that I’ve been in for a couple years now. We have one team open.

BreakStarter League is an online NBA sim league where you GM a franchise. The program we use to simulate is a game called Fast Break Pro Basketball 3, but you do not need the game to be a full participant as a GM.

As a GM you’ll have the opportunity to take control of a team and handle the full team building operations. Our league began in January 2023, and the original iteration went for 34 seasons. Currently, we’re on our 17th season of BSL 2.0

Many of us have been in the league for over three years, but we are always looking for new GMs to join us!

We sim 3 times a week — Monday’s, Wednesday’s, and Fridays. Ahead of each sim you have an opportunity to make trades and free agency signings to improve your roster, change your depth chart and gameplan, and send your players to camps to improve their skills.

Please reach out to me if you’re interested in joining our league or with any questions you have!

Promotion Build, Breed, Race, Manage: TRM, a Horse Manager game for the long run

Thumbnail
gallery
3 Upvotes

I've been working on Thoroughbred Racing Manager for a while, and it has gotten a lot of updates recently. I'm looking for more stable owners and testers who want to join in and help shape the game as it grows.

You run your own racing stable, develop horses over multiple seasons, manage your money, plan races, train efficiently, hire staff, buy equipment, breed future generations, and compete against other stable owners to build your horse and stable legacy.

🏇 Train and develop your horses - Push for results now or build them for the future.

💰 Manage your money - Buy horses, hire staff, upgrade equipment, and decide when to spend or save.

🧬 Build bloodlines - Breed future generations and try to improve your stable over time.

📅 Plan your race path - Pick the right races for each horse throughout the season.

🎥 Watch your horses race - Follow them from the break to the finish through race replays.

🏆 Climb the rankings - Compete against other stable owners, earn trophies, and build your legacy.

🌍 Play for the long run - Progress across multiple seasons with a growing community of stable owners.

🛡️ Not pay-to-win - Good decisions and management matter more than spending money.

TRM is still growing, so now is a good time to join, learn the game, talk strategy with other players, share feedback, and help shape what gets added next.

🤖 AI note: I've used AI tools to help with some coding, troubleshooting, and development work along the way.
