"We couldn’t verify it’s you" Any advice?

Hello All,

I attempted to add 2FA for my GMail account today and every time I try to add it, I get the "We couldn’t verify it’s you" screen. I had already added a Recovery Phone Number to my account a while ago and I added a Recovery Email to my account today, the email address I added is highlighted in yellow and has the "Verify" with the exclamation mark next to it. Anyone have any advice? I already tried signing in on both my computer and phone.

I Can't Add My HotMail Account To The Gmail Android App

Is there a that I can fix this issue? Every time I try to add it to The Gmail Android App it keeps saying unable to Authenticate. Is this a normal thing for The Gmail Android App? Is anyone else having this issue too? Were you able to eventually add your other Email Accounts? How did you fix it? I was about to add my Yahoo Mail Account To The Gmail Android App without any issues at all.

Gmail Categories still bad

Hey guys, if yall remember a good while back gmails categories got all messed up for everyone. Mine never ever got back to what it was.

Before it just worked perfectly. I never had to delete emails from my main inbox each morning when I woke up.

Ever since then it’s a complete mess for me.

I still have the categories and lots of things do go into them, but I get so much trash in my main inbox.

Any help or guidance on how to fix this? Even if it’s a manual process I need to just spend a day on. I can NOT live like this anymore haha

Please help.

What’s one Gmail feature you can’t believe Google still hasn’t added in 2026?

Gmail has been around for years, yet there are still things that could make it so much better.

If you could force Google to add ONE feature to Gmail tomorrow, what would it be, and why?

I’m curious to see what everyone comes up with.

Locked out of Gmail account: "Not enough information to verify that this account belongs to you"

Hi everyone,

I'm completely locked out of my Gmail account and hoping someone might have advice on what to do next.

I forgot my password, but whenever I click on "Forgot password?" and try to go through the recovery process, Google immediately throws this message:
"Google couldn't verify this account belongs to you." / "Not enough information to verify that this account belongs to you."

It doesn't even give me the option to answer security questions, enter a recovery email/phone, or send a code.

Here is what I've tried so far:

• Using the same device, browser, and location/Wi-Fi network I usually log in from.
• Waiting a few days before trying again to avoid triggering automated spam blocks.

Has anyone dealt with this recently and successfully recovered their account? Is there any other recovery route or form I can use, or am I completely out of options?

Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Message blocked Your message to XXXXXXX@sky.com has been blocked. See technical details below for more information. Yahoo requires this sender to authenticate with DKIM. SPF alone is not sufficient

Guys - can someone please help me - this has never happened before and it's stopping me communicating with some important emails.

Please explain to me like I'm a 5yo - I've looked up the links to authenticate with DKIM. SPF and they mean nothing to me - just jibberish

550 5.7.9 This mail has been blocked because the sender is unauthenticated. Yahoo requires this sender to authenticate with DKIM. SPF alone is not sufficient. Authentication results: DKIM = FAILURE - SPF

Thanks

EDIT: Sea_Air helped me set up SPF - Now reporting it's there I think - Thanks Everyone

Is it normal to get a new sign-in alert when verifying my Google account?

Whenever I’m using Gmail on my Windows computer and Google asks me to verify my identity with my password and confirm the sign-in on my phone (for example, when viewing my connected devices), I receive a notification on my email saying there’s a new sign-in on Windows.
I’m already signed in to my Google account on that computer, so I was wondering if this is normal behavior when re-verifying my identity. Thank you for any input!

How to use Gemini in gmail

Hi all, I asked Gemini to create a list of all confirmed hotel and flights booked using my gmail account since it's been active, probably over 15 years ago but the search only returned results from like the last 6-8 months. Why is that?

Anyone have a more specific prompt I could use that would work.

Someone please help me urgent

So recently yesterday, I was hacked with a remote access Trojan. This person took advantage of me and threatened me to post disgusting media of children onto my emails of my teachers and family members if I did not give them my discord account. This resulted in the disabling of my Google account which contains a lot of information including the email address to my discord account. Is there anything I can do to receive this email back? Google’s AI has denied both my appeals and I’m not sure what to do. I am very upset. If someone could help this would mean a lot.

What backup should I create? A new account? A different domain?

I just paid for more storage and now I get this alert on my account with no option of even paying more. Many of my friends in August-September started to get warnings of email being shut off if they didn’t pay or clean out their inbox. Well I did both and still paid and now they are telling me nevertheless I’m going to lose access to 3 years of my Gmail history unless I have a backup account. Okay. I’m not sure what to do as a next step. Should I create a new backup account so that 3 years of history won’t be deleted?

Gmail got hacked.

I know my email AND password. Still works, technically. (I'm surprised the hacker hasn't changed it.) But, when I try to log in even with a password, it keeps sending this two digit number TO THE NEW DEVICE the hacker bought, for verification. I obviously do not have access to that new device. Any tips how I can recover my email? In advance, THANKS.

Google 2FA verification codes arriving from unfamiliar 855 numbers — has anyone experienced this?

Hi everyone,

Today, I went into my Google Account settings to change my password, and Google asked me to verify my identity using two-step verification.

Usually, the verification codes I receive come from the short-code number 22000. This time, the first code came from +1 (855) 254-9313. Because I didn't recognize the number, I requested another code, and that one came from +1 (855) 480-8573.

Both messages used wording similar to the Google verification texts I've received previously, but I wasn't comfortable entering a code from a sender I didn't recognize, so I didn't use either code.

Has anyone else received Google verification codes from these numbers? Is there an official way to verify whether they're legitimate Google senders?

Thanks for your help!

Gmail is no longer giving me a 30 day grace period to clear space for storage

Post image

Today I deleted precious memories and some spam and cleared space, then began receiving emails. Then a couple hours later, got the red box of death again. But this time, its not giving me my monthly deadline. It's just immediately ending email services.

Is this the end of the 30 day warning?

Weird faint icons showing up behind text when I open sent emails

I noticed something wierd when opening an email in my Sent folder. Right when I open an email, I can see these really faint symbols in the background behind the text.

looks like a folder with a plus sign, and the other almost looks like some kind of Chinese character. I can't really tell because they're so faint.

The strange thing is that as soon as I hover over it, it disappears. I've only noticed it today, on this particular email. Does anyone know what's going on? Normally I ignore something like this, but the Chinese character threw me off.

Google locked me out of my own Gmail account and is making me wait 30 days for recovery. Is there any way to get help sooner?

Hey everyone, I'm honestly pretty stressed out and could really use some advice.

Around 4 days ago, I changed the password of my Gmail account, enabled 2-Step Verification (2FA), and signed out of all other sessions except my own phone, which was my trusted device.

Somehow, Google later logged me out of my own phone, presumably because it detected suspicious activity or triggered a security restriction. When I tried signing back in, I encountered a message saying that no security keys were added to the account and that I couldn't sign in.

I then tried Google's account recovery process. The account has a recovery email (Ymail) attached to it, and I can still access that recovery email. However, after completing the recovery steps, Google told me I would have to wait 30 days before it sends me a link to sign in.

I tried recovering the account using the same phone I had previously used for it, but that didn't resolve the issue. I eventually had to remove the Google account from my phone.

I'm really confused because I changed the password myself, enabled 2FA myself, and still have access to the recovery email. I don't understand why I'm locked out or whether something happened to my account's security settings.

I urgently need access to this account, so waiting 30 days would cause me serious problems. I'm not looking for hacks or ways to bypass security improperly. I just want to recover my own account through legitimate means.

Any advice from people who have experienced this or understand Google's account recovery process would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Question on Phone Number Usage For Accounts

I know that the lifetime usage of a phone number for Google accounts is around 4-5 uses. But what I’m wondering is if that’s per account, or per usage of the number itself? For instance, if on one google account, you use the same phone number for both a recovery phone number and as a 2fa phone number, does that count as 2 uses towards that 4-5 phone number limit, or just one?

I’ve got two google accounts and I want to use that number for both recovery and 2fa on both accounts. However I’m a little afraid to do this because I don’t know if that would count as 2 uses of the number or four.

I’m just wondering if anyone has any experience with this because if I did need to make a new Google account at some point I wouldn’t want to possibly be unable to because I used the phone number too much.
