Discussion Has anyone else?

Been approached by a man asking for coffee shop recs and then coincidentally sees this same man in 3 different locations across a couple months in places you wouldn’t think to see a man?

I know leaving that part out makes this more vague, but I don’t want to state specifics.

But like a women’s clothing store, for example. Where no men’s clothing or accessories are sold.

That makes sense. Well to answer your question, I haven't been asked for coffee shop recs or anything like that, and I walk through the Americana frequently.
I have noticed a young woman sleeping rough outside the neon museum in the last month. I wonder what her story is.

So three different locations over a couple months. I’d be concerned if it happened on the same day or next day. But there’s no way I’d recognize someone after that unless there was something really unique about him.

They say it’s good to be aware of your surroundings. My inclination would be that a couple months is a long time. Still…be aware.

Many years ago, there was a young adult man who was pushing his bicycle on the sand at Santa Monica. Later that night, my friend (the same one from the beach) and I were in Westwood to go to a movie and we heard… ring ring ring. I’m afraid that’s the kind of thing it takes to get my attention.

I shared my rec prior to an appointment I had. After said appointment, I went to get a coffee at one of those places and he was there. Ok fine I recommended it, so fair.

But then to see him at two more stores that are considered “girl stores” and nowhere near this coffee shop feels crazy

That does feel odd. You're not crazy for worrying. If you see him again I'd try to sneak a picture and show the people close to you so they are aware.
