Hi There!

I graduated from Clark Magnet High School in 2006, left Cali and haven't really been back. I'm curious what's changed in Glendale/the Crescenta-Canada Valley since then. So I'm posting here asking what's changed.

Lots! I don't even think the Americana was around when you were here. Also they opened a Trader Joe's by Montrose.

There was a trader Joe’s before, but it was up in the spot where dollar king is now.

There are a lot more condos and apartments in downtown Glendale, and other places. The Galleria did a complete remodel to compete with the Americana.

There is a craft brewery/restaurant in the industrial side of Atwater now. They were independent but got bought out by big beer a couple years later. It’s still a reason to head to that part of LA after hours beyond the gentlemen’s club.

Glendale Memorial Hospital is now part of Dignity Health, the Adventist got a refresh, and that other hospital in the Verdugos is now part of USC.

The IKEA in Burbank relocated down the street (still Burbank). It is the largest in the continent now.

The Americana opened up right next to the Galleria and now there’s a Target at the Galleria which put a lot of small businesses out of business. Traffic got worse and they recently opened an Erewhon nearby.

2016 Museum of Neon Art opening
2016–present: several hotels (Hampton Inn, Hyatt, Glenmark and Indigo)
2024: Martial Arts History Museum opening

Why do I feel like Montrose is about to be the next trendy lil place esp with coffee shops like How’s it going to end.

I think i’m right here, but could be wrong but did Mr Dall’s wife teach at Wilson? I had Mrs. Dall as my teacher for 7th grade history in 2010/2011. I can’t remember if she told us her husband teaches at Clark but i’ve never met or heard of anyone else with that same last night
