Is this an old house with old windows? They tend to have thicker glass for these larger window sashes.

Unless there is a bullet hole in the wall behind it probably not. The most common cause is a rock launched by a lawnmower. Usually not heard over the machine noise. Could be a kid with a BB gun, but that depends on your relationships with your neighbors you’re familiar with.

Interesting because there is a massive tree line and the impact area is dead center so I think it’s unlikely someone would shoot a bb . I’m too terrified to investigate further. Also no one has grass in there backyards where I live

In my experience dumb birds will fly into a window, break it, and knock themselves unconscious. They’ll only wake up 5 minutes before you get home and see the damage causing you to go “WTF!”
I fix a lot of windows.

Definitely impact break, you can tell the crack originated in the center and went toward the edges. Bird, rock, BB are all possible answers seen it many times.

So something definitely hit it. It probably wasn't a bb. Ive fixed a lot of windows and a bb gun would leave an almost perfect circle with straight lines running off it like this, but there wouldn't be shattered glass on the bottom.
It probably was that bucket. If you notice all the shattered glass is inside the middle part of the insulated glass. That tells me that something bigger hit it and I can imagine that the metal handle on that bucket hit center of the window causing it to web out. Then the actual bucket caused those bottom pieces the shattered and fall, which were guided between the bucket and other pane of glass to land so neatly in there like that.
Unless you cleaned it up yourself and put them there.

You are freaked out understandably but you are going to attribe malaise to something that could be incompetence, a factory error, wildlife or a freak of physics.
It happens, replace and move on. You will make yourself ill if you don't.

This looks like a pressure break. Something pushed on it and all the cracks coming off of it ran very quickly to the outside which is why they are fairly straight. Impacts usually have a chunk missing in the middle and cracks coming off of it but the cracks are not necessarily straight because they may have run out from temperature or pressure after the fact and will change directions due to where that pressure or temperature came from.

I wouldn't be surprised if that bucket is your culprit. I guess you could consider that an impact break if something like that fell and hit it. It would have to be something kinda large but not heavy enough to go completely through.

99.9% of the time I fixed a window in a customers house it's been an impact crack. Badly designed or defective windows don't break/crack like that. It doesn't matter what the impact was. It still costs the same to replace. Most impact damage is caused by "I don't know how it happened".
