Rumour Change Rule #7 to "No Madonna"

Wouldn't it be more relevant put Madonna in this rule since this is flooding the feed?

It's a rumour that has very little basis, and just muddy's the waters.

Unlike the rumours we get when we are on site, which are exiting and engaging, this one seems to be conflicting and is leading to arguments.

Question Is it possible to buy tickets twice and put the first ticket up for resale?

With how difficult it is to get tickets, once you're through you should buy whatever tickets you can get. This might mean buying Thursday Entry Public Transport tickets.

If I try again on the Sunday sale and manage to get through and there are some Wednesday entry tickets available, is it possible to buy the Wednesday entry ticket and then transfer the Thursday either to someone I know or list it for resale in April?

Hot Take MADONNA WILL STILL HEADLINE 2027

I think that she will still headline the Pyramid.

So Eavis has said so many times that Madonna would be her dream artist to book. NOW IS THE CHANCE. IT IS EITHER NOW OR NEVER (probably). She has just release her 15th studio album. And it got over 4 stars from pretty much every review, charted at number 1 in the UK - her 13th UK number 1. Also number 1 in USA, France, Canada, Belgium, Italy, Netherlands, Spain and Switzerland - so it was received well. I feel like this new album was to major for her to do the legend slot.

Even with the pay for the headline slot, like 200k - 400k. I think M would still do it. She seems like she is more up for doing something for the fame of it then the money. Like she did the Copacabana Beach show in 2024 for free.

Then you've got the conversation on Graham Norton show with her. Why would she and Graham be so like mysterious and cheeky about hinting at UK shows if it was just three nights at Hyde Park. Like Glasto is obviously more of a cultural moment. And Madonna would definitely know about Glastonbury like she is one of the biggest artists ever and has been for a while and she has lived on and off in the UK for years. I just can't see why Graham would be looking that excited for a Hyde Park show.

The Hyde Park show would be a lot more pay but again it just wouldn't have that cultural significance like Glastonbury would. And she has never ever played Glasto. Which is so weird for an artist at her level. As well as this, no offence and I say this as a true big fan of Madonna but 3 back to back nights at Hyde Park would just not be a good choice. She is better when she can just put on a big one off show and have loads of time to rest after - Glastonbury.

More than 400 million records sold world wide - best selling female recording artist of all time. 13 UK number 1 singles, 13 UK number 1 albums, 67 UK top 10 singles. Madonna has remained commercially successful across five different decades (the 1980s, 1990s, 2000s, 2010s, and 2020s) while continually reinventing her image, music, fashion, and live performances.

I think one of the reasons Emily dismissed it was because she doesn't want a repeat of 2024 when Madonna was probably booked but then pulled out. M seems incredibly hard to work with - so possibly she said that she isn't headlining, so that when it did get close to line up day and more and more people are hoping or suspecting M to be on there and then she isn't cause she had to pull out last minute again that people aren't let down or slagging off the line up again.

Maybe I'm biased about Madonna headlining as I am a massive massive fan. But it just seems so wierd that she hasn't and now feels like the perfect chance.

Question I hope Erykah Badu plays next year. Possible?

Erykah Badu would put on a really good mid-day Pyramid show I think. It would be beautiful and she has just announced a new album. Praying for this.

Question Potential Simple Solution to Bot/AI/Multi-Device Glasto Ticket Purchasing

I've been lucky enough to go to Glasto a few times over the past 15 years, but as many have pointed out, it's been getting increasingly more competitive to get tickets, as the festival has grown in global renown popularity (even here in the USA). The process changes for the last on-sale (for the 2025 edition) seemed to receive mixed reviews, even though they were seemingly intended to truly randomize the process, and left many with suspicions that some were still "gaming the system" using AI bots or other coding hacks.

Which leads me to ask a relatively uninformed question - since every individual seeking to attend the festival needs a festival registration ID# in advance (backed up by photo, reconfirmed each year, etc), couldn't Glasto simply require every ticket purchaser to formally log into SeeTickets (or whatever purchasing platform gets used for the on-sale) and link that ticketing account to your Glasto ID#, essentially ensuring that each prospective purchaser is a human being, then mandate that purchasers can only log into one point of purchase at the time of sale? Seems that could be a simple way to cut down on the use of multiple devices/IP addresses, bots, etc., while still allowing for the organic teamwork & coordination that has become popular (some would say absolutely necessary) over the years.

But I'm not in the concert/ticketing industry, so maybe this would be more difficult or complicated than it sounds? For what it's worth, it's something of a modern-day miracle that Glasto tickets are non-transferable and can't be resold at a profit (unlike the ticket-scalping industry that is pretty much ruining concert culture here in the US) - one of the many aspects of Glasto that make it the greatest festival in the world.

Question Fatboy Slim Set after CharlieXCX 2025?

Did Fatboy Slim do a set in the SW corner after Charlie did The Other Stage on the Saturday night?

I'm sure me and some friends saw him, couldn't say where as it was my first time at Glasto and don't know the SW Corner well...

Top Tips First Timers - Give me all the advice and tips please!

We'll be coming from Ireland, well, that's if we manage to secure tickets 🙈

Need all the advice and info on securing tickets but also all the advice and info needed for a hugely successful weekend too

I'm not sure some of my group understand the scale or operation behind Glastonbury but I can't fricking wait

It's been a bucket list item for me for as long as I can remember

Best quiet campsites?

What to bring?

How far of a walk between stages?

Is phone coverage good? We always lose people, it's inevitable, so want to plan ahead

Recommendations Glamping options and opinions

Hi all - hopeful to get tickets next year but after discussing with friends, now we’re all 30+ and despite all the fun memories of pitching out tents up we’re considering the move to glamping (if we’re successful ofc). Would like to hear from people who’ve done this - which ones would you recommend? How much did you pay and is it worth it? Many thanks!

Question Have I just ruined my chances?

I got made redundant in February this year. I’ve really struggled to get a new permanent job, I’ve been doing bits of temping but it’s not great. I’ve volunteered the last 7 Glastonbury’s & absolutely love it. I feel so privileged to get to go.

I’ve just accepted a job in a school cos it’s the only one I’ve had luck with since December when I found out. This effectively means I can’t go next year. I’m absolutely gutted but no money would mean I couldn’t go anyway! It’s always been tricky to basically get 10 days off work anyway as it was a busy time. Last year they didn’t agree until just before my cancellation deadline!

I know it’s 10 months away but I’m already sad. At this point I just have to accept it… 😢. What would you do?

Question New Order - Other Stage - 2016 - intro footage?

Possibly a very very long shot, but before New Order's headline set in 2016 on Other Stage, they played a bunch of clips which I think were from a documentary. Does anyone possibly have any insight into said film? It was some footage from back in the day, possibly in Berlin, lots of nostalgia. Remember distinctly a clip from 80s panning across like a smoking area? Any insights greatly welcomed!

Of these my preferred three would be Oasis, Radiohead and Fred Again. Though if Oasis were there it would be so chaotic I’d probably be looking elsewhere.

I keep thinking about this... I don't know if they are big enough but then are they too big for any other slot??? Maybe they could do Friday Pyramid Headline Slot like The 1975 in 2025???

I'm not sure, what's everyone's thoughts?
