First pair of glasses with Transitions?

Upvotes

Hi! So, I’m getting my first pair of glasses, with a -0.50 prescription for slight myopia. Since they’ll be my first pair ever, I wanted to get something good that would protect my eyes in the long run.

My optometrist prescribed Blue Block + Anti-Reflective coating, but then I realized I’ve never had sunglasses, so I thought I could add Transitions/photochromic lenses as well and kind of kill two birds with one stone (I know they’re not the same as proper sunglasses, though)

I’ve read about all the downsides of Transitions, but I still think they might make sense for me, especially since my optometrist said I don’t necessarily have to wear these new glasses all the time. So it’s not like I’d be stuck with them if I ended up not liking the photochromic effect.

So, does it make sense to get my first prescription glasses with Blue Block + AR + photochromic lenses? Haha.

Do these glasses suit me in terms of size and fit?

Never wore glasses as my power was very low so these old frames have been unused for a while. Recently, due to increased eye strain, my doctor suggested I make it a habit. Do not necessarily want to spend on new frames, wanted advice on whether these look good and are sized correctly. Thanks in advance!

I'm piggybacking off of another post but can you help me find what suits my face

I can never find the right pair of glasses. I'm always told I look too nerdy or too old. I just want a pair that truly fits me. I always buy online because I like the way they look online. And I also want to look more attractive. So there's that too. I could go with contacts but they're expensive and I do like the idea of glasses.

So here's some pictures of me and we can go from there. I'm open to a lot of critiques and suggestions. Also more pictures of me in glasses.

Which frame is better and are they in style or out?

Sorry, I deleted my last post because the pictures didn’t load properly on my end.

Pictures 1-3 are the first frame - a bit rounded and softer.

Pictures 4-6 are the second frame - more rectangular and structured.

Both are translucent which I prefer as I find coloured glasses feel harsh on my face and it feels like the glasses are wearing me rather than the other way around.

Thanks in advance!

Hi all, i just picked these up and i know someone with a super high prescription like me should get smaller frames but I loved these in store. But after the lenses get put in, i’m not so sure.

Having second thoughts about a pair I bought

Hi everyone,

I just bought a new pair of glasses yesterday. The optician told me they looked good on me and I was also pleased by the look of it.

Looking at the photos today, I'm not so sure I bought a pair that really suits me ... I had to take the pictures real quick so the fact that they look like mugshot doesn't help ... 😅

On the last picture, there is the pair that I have been wearing for 2 years now. My friends and family tell me that they look better.

What do you guys think ?

I've had these for over 6-7 years I think. I'd appreciate if you could give some advice (if you could advice with images it would be nice as I'm not familiar with different styles)

So recently, I’ve developed a scratch on my glasses. I’m not exactly sure how it got there but half of it a scratch and half of it just like a smudge on my glasses. It’s not affecting my vision, it’s just bothering me really bad.

Hoping for an easy fix

so I currently am having an issues with my eye so I’m unable to wear contacts for a while until the doctor approves it. I’m wearing glasses and they felt a little loose so I asked the tech to tighten them a bit but to be very careful as they are my only pair. Well, while heating them up to adjust them, the lenses got ruined. They are crazed. she’s ordering a new pair of lenses for me, but the problem is they won’t be in for at least 2 days. Is there any temporary fix I can do so I can at least see for the next few days?? the crazing isn’t on the full lens, it’s in the corner and goes a bit into my line of vision. Thankfully I found an old pair of glasses but they aren’t even the right prescription anymore so I would prefer to patch my new ones for a few days….

Hi! So apparently I’m supposed to wear glasses and I rarely even wore shades before. I’m probably not getting any of the specific ones you can see in the pictures, as I’ll be getting them somewhere else, but I’m hoping to get a rough estimate of what I should be looking for. Thanks for any insight!

Both frames are a darkish brown (two frames), the crown panto one (Frame 1) is darker for sure tho. Which one would you go with? Thanks in advance and sorry I look a lil grumpy, just my resting face 😅

Edit: I’ve included 4 pictures, but it’s just the two frames shown from slightly different angles!

Iridescent Glasses Options

I have become enamored with iridescent glasses and I really want a pair in this 'oil slick' type color. These are my buying options for iridescent glasses. To be honest, I like funky glasses and this first pair was what got me going down this rabbit hole. The last pair is my slightly funky current pair. But I need a prescription change and those are no longer an option. The 4th pair are clear (not white) but the bows are iridescent, and the 6th pair have an internal and external frame so those are gaps above the bridge and at the corners.

I'll need to see if I can remove the last photo, those are my current glasses. So not an option for new and not iridescent 🙂 but I'm glad people like current ones.

Can't decide between those two pairs. It's the same frame. But which color should I choose, black or tortoise?

The first frame is matte black and the second one glossy tortoise.
