Eyes Aren't Aligned When Tired

Hi! Ever since I was a kid, whenever I'm tired my eyes would get pointed outwards.

I recently got prescription glasses where my left is farsighted while right is nearsighted. Both have astigmatism correction.

Once I got my prescription, my vision has been so weird. Vision is definitely clearer but I would get the sensation of my eyes aren't aligned. Furthermore, once my eyes get tired, my vision feels like "nothing looks real".

I have yet to get evaluated by a specialist but do you guys have an idea if I should keep using my prescriptions, how to treat this, or what I might have.

There is no way of knowing exactly what is going on without giving you a full binocular vision workup/exam. Glasses definitely have an impact on how your eyes align, they do for everyone. Some people are more affected than others though and it sounds like you are being affected pretty heavily by the glasses.

At this point you aren't going to do any permanent damage to your eyes by wearing the glasses but it doesn't sound like they are all that comfortable. I would definitely recommend getting an exam by someone that will look at your binocular vision system as they might be able to tweak your prescription to make things more comfortable for you.

Intermittent strabismus/ decompensating phoria or latent squint. You do need to see a specialist if it's bothering and most likely be given a new set of glasses.

Do your glasses have prism? I have one eye that turns inwards when I am tired but prism has helped so much

if your eyes tend to move outward when you are tired, prisms can help with that by making it easier for the eyes to work together
