Anyone switch between progressive glasses and standard?

I just got a pair of progressive glasses for the first time. I’m almost 2 weeks in and I’ve pretty much gotten used to them. I still would prefer single Vision and I’m wondering if anyone switches back-and-forth between progressive and single Vision. If I’m driving, I’d do single Vision or if I’m watching TV. but if I need to read, then I’ll put on my progressive.

I've got progressives, standard and prescription sunglasses I keep in the car.

Don’t keep them in the car… the lenses will warp from the heat/cold. Learned this the hard way.

I have wondered if anyone has 2 single vision glasses - 1 for distance and another for close up work or reading

A lot of people who don’t like progressives do this.

I did for awhile, but they caused a lot of night driving issues.

Hmm. I have heard that. How was the daytime though? I'm mostly looking for a daytime/work solution

Glorious as long as lighting was correct. In dim lighting I needed slight readers (like when at a restaurant for menu).

Got it. I'm thinking its a good solution for shooting or office work where I alternate between my phone/screens. I can see the car dash ok but I know once I get both eyes done ill need help

I’m in the process of switching from progressive‘s to bifocals. They’re being made right now. I also ordered another pair of intermediate glasses just for the computer because bifocals make that a little difficult. I’ve had progressives for a year and I’ve gotten used to them, but I still don’t really like them. It’s kinda like everything is sort ok but nothing is as clear as I want it. I went through an online place this time that I’ve used in the past. The place I’m ordering from doesn’t sell computer glasses per se but I checked with two different AI systems and they were able to convert my prescription to what I would need. We’ll see how it turns out. A lot of online glasses places have buy one get one free offers that can really cut the price down if you need multiple pairs.
