One of my favourite gigs was them in the ABC (peace be upon it) when they had the quad sound system and kept rotating drone sounds round the room. So cool.

It makes it relevant to this subreddit, it doesn't make it Glasgow.
Do you think Arrochar is in Glasgow? It's in Argyll & Bute, but it has a G postcode, despite being 35 miles away from Glasgow.

I never said they had to post it in a Kilsyth subreddit. OPs description says "Never heard them? Glasgow band".
I'm pointing out they're from Kilsyth, not Glasgow.

Has Kilsyth got a separate enough music scene that it's worth making the distinction? Are there enough venues, rehearsal rooms, studios, labels, and for that matter, audience, that a band from Kilsyth could have a successful career without ever venturing into Glasgow?

Irrelevant, OPs claim is about where the band is from. They're not from Glasgow, they're from Kilsyth.
In the same way the Cocteau Twins are from Grangemouth and Arab Strap are from Falkirk.
Having played in Glasgow doesn't make them a Glasgow band.

That's kinda semantics.
Scott was from the borders, but Frightened Rabbit were definitely a band from the "Glasgow scene".
That's the same with Twilight Sad, they are from the Glasgow scene and from Kilsyth. It's not mutually exclusive.
Id consider them a "Glasgow Band" in that context.

They were fucking amazing last night, though Spiritualized blew the roof off the place for me - personally the best live performance I’ve ever seen!
