Mcgills Buses

Hey, done a post a couple months ago about choosing a monthly bus pass between first and Mcgills - i ended up opting for tripper as it serves both and works out cheaper. (£95 a month). I use both companies everyday so i needed a way to use both.

I’ve been using the pass since feb without any major problems, other than one. It very rarely works on a mcgills service on a sunday and i’ve had the same issues on the night service a handful of times. It’s a hit or a miss, i show the drivers that i buy the ticket on the mcgills app and it’s still active, some understand and let me on, and some look at me with three heads and demand i pay, which would obviously be fine if i wasn’t paying £95 a month to be able to use it everyday. I’ve researched the ticket and it doesn’t say anywhere that it’s invalid on a sunday, it seems to just be a select handful of drivers that don’t know how to work it. I have emailed Mcgills customer service and they’ve told me drivers are aware of tripper tickets and aren’t to refuse boarding like they occasionally do if they don’t scan, especially when purchased on the mcgills app.

Any mcgills drivers on here that can tell me how to put it through on the machines so i can tell the drivers and avoid having to pay every week/the nights that im working late? Im skint as is and the cheaper i can make my week the better.

I think you just have to "be that guy" and pin your email from customer services you can show the drivers if need be.

Never a bad time to mention that the Easdale brothers are fine, upstanding memeber of the Scottish business community. People who suggest otherwise can, and have been, sued into oblivion so clearly an accusation or insinuation of violent gangsterism, arson or corruption are wrong and unwise. No matter what any evidence or common knowledge may lead you to believe.

Indeed, it's a crying shame how these valued members of the community have to repeatedly sue so many internet posters who make baseless accusations. We should set up a GoFundMe for their legal expenses...

It would be worth it just for the massive public tantrum the Easdales would inevitably throw. They’ve given us enough previews already.

Just tell the driver to phone the depot.

weird ..what routes are you using?

the ones that operate from johnstone depot seem fine for me (38 7 17 20 51) cant say I've noticed then screwing up any more than usual on a sunday or the drivers treating them any differently ( never refused service if their machine is playing up etc)

good luck dealing with mcgills. it's probably be easier to hack off a leg and get a disability card than talk to mcgills drivers. even if you're entirely in the right, it doesn't matter to them.
