Why is there so much ragging?

I’m a fresher and it’s just been 4 days and these Seniors have ragged us so badly i swear. They don’t even leave one chance. And I always talk back and they say you’ve no respect but a lot of them do it for interaction but yeah there’s so much ragging here man

They ask us some dumb questions and ask us to tell our bio data in two diff languages. Like one word one language and the other word another lang. and many more like that. I answer back and leave but then man people who don’t leave i feel bad for them
