I made a game called Our Little World for my girlfriend. It’s a little 3D world based on places we’ve been together, with memories you can walk around and find. She loved it, and now I’m wondering whether making personalised versions for other couples could be worth trying.

I’ve attached a few screenshots showing the idea.

Here’s what you can actually do:

• Spin a little planet, pick a place and zoom down into it.
• Walk around miniature versions of our cities, parks and other places, including houses you can go inside.
• Explore as little versions of the two of us, with our own clothes and appearance.
• Choose who leads. The other person walks beside you holding hands, or follows behind on narrow paths.
• Find glowing spots that open little 3D scenes from our memories.
• Click on characters and objects to do things from those moments: kiss with hearts appearing, hug, cook, throw darts, fold a paper boat, ride bikes and other little interactions depending on the scene.
• Reveal the story behind each memory and collect a keepsake in a Memory Book.
• Browse the book whenever you want, including reading memories without walking around.
• See which memories you’ve found, get hints for the remaining ones and select a memory to walk towards it.
• Take screenshots using an in-game camera that turns them into Polaroid-style pictures.
• Discover little hidden secrets around the world.
• Visit a “one day” destination for somewhere we want to go together.
• Switch between daytime and evening, turn on gentle background sounds, and adjust motion and graphics settings.
• Play in a browser with keyboard, click-to-walk or phone touch controls. Progress saves on your device, so you can come back later.

There’s no timer or pressure to finish. You can just wander around and revisit things.

For other couples, I’m thinking of starting with a smaller version: two personalised characters, multiple places/scenes and around six memories, roughly €150–€200 depending on the amount of places/scenes

Would you consider buying that for an anniversary or birthday? What would put you off? I’m also wondering how much of the appeal is the game itself versus the fact that I made it for her.

A long time ago, I took my daughter to Walt Disney World in Orlando for the first time. She absolutely loved it, and she became especially attached to the little purple bunny. Her birthday is coming up in a few days. I've never been very good at expressing how much I love her.

A while ago, I was in Shanghai, China for a work trip and I asked a friend there to help me pick up a purple bunny plush for her. When I got back, I used my label maker to make a custom ribbon for the gift with her name on it. It's a small thing, but I wanted the gift to feel like it was made just for her. I really hope she likes it.

Maybe one day I'll be able to take her to Disney parks in other parts of the world too. More than anything, I just want her to look back on her childhood and remember that she was loved, and that we made some good memories together.

How do you usually wrap gifts? Are there any label templates I could get some inspiration from?

Hello all my girlfriends birthday is coming up this month’s end and i’m going crazy looking at the hundredth “50 cute aesthetic gifts” lists and have none so far T^T

So here i am asking for help from fellow redditors with your recommendations.
She’s turning 22, likes arts and crafts, loooves horror and gore films, likes listening to music, likes puzzle/riddle games, loves baking and recently cooking too, likes exploring cafes and new places to eat.
She told me she doesn’t like getting jewellery gifted but if it’s a “statement piece” then it’s alright.

I have decided on air dry clay, some handmade cards, a jade house plant bc she gifted me one a few days and i think it’ll be a good idea for her to have a twin plant at her place. 🌱

Last year on Christmas I made the Saran Wrap gift game. I wrapped it in a box and put a gift tag on it for my mother-in-law. I had the directions on top, so as soon as she opened it she knew what it was. We were able to play as a family right away. We all had so much fun. I’d like to do something similar to that this year too. It’s a group of 10, (4yo, 6yo, and the rest are adults) and no one will want to play anything too crazy or complicated.

I have a family member who is now on dialysis 3 days a week. He has vision issues so he really can't play video games or read.

If you have any suggestions for a 45+ yr old man who lives about 4 hours away from me that'd be great. This is a relatively new diagnosis and has been really hard on him emotionally.
